Creating a Villain - A Question on Canon...

Post by Kiskaloo on Wed 1 Oct 2008 - 21:16

So I am creating a villain for my current story - Serbian "businessman" Franjo Lompar. He made a killing in, well, killing during the Yugoslav wars and also is in the drug trafficking business. When Yugoslavia dried up, he branched out and started selling weapons to the Five Republics as well as the Chechens (which explains why an old flame/friend of Michele's shows up in Geneva looking for Lompar, as well, and introduces [one of] Russia's answers to the SWA girls), Algerians, and others.

I am in the earliest stages of fleshing him out, but I was wondering if I should add human trafficking to Lompar's activities and, more importantly, make him behind (or in support of) the ring that brought Triela and the others to Amsterdam.

Or is that just getting too coincidental?

(As a note, Triela and Hillshire are not [at least currently] part of the team sent to deal with Lompar in Geneva).

Not inconceivable. Human trafficking is something that the Balkan crime bosses have their fingers pretty extensively in.

I would have to agree with Nacht.
Human trafficking is a big ticket item out there as it is in just a few other places. Him being at the right place at the right time makes it all the more reason why he should.

Indeed there are many levels of organization involved in that sick business. To have him in charge of the guys who do the actual legwork isn't inconceivable.
