Fratelli Described In Song

Post by Kiskaloo on Fri 31 Oct 2008 - 10:25

Was watching the movie Martian Child last night and came across the song Satellite by the band Guster.

I thought it describes Giuseppe's and Henrietta's fratello relationship quite well...

Does anyone else have ideas for canon or OC fratelli?

I happen to really like Yuri Horie's "Vanilla Salt", which is the ED to the anime Toradora. I also think it could fit for how Triela views her relationship with Hillshire, especially post-Volume 10.

Rico, and Jean

Down with the Sickness by Disturbed

lyrics here

Clearly not a perfect match. However the attitude is perfect for Jean's little murder machine. AWESOME

Simply put, the only song that Fernando/Rachel one would have is the one that they sing when times are tough... as on the Beatle's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Album, Side 1, Song 2... Name it.

And if you can figure that out...
Triva: As a Beatle, what only 3 songs did Ringo Starr sing?

I admit to being a massive fan of the teen J-Pop band ZONE.

I chose the title "Yume no Kakera" (Fragment of a Dream) for the OC story with Claes because it dealt with her memories and dreams. It also happens to be my favorite song they did. Listening to it again, if you ignore that it's a girl singing about a boy, the lyrics actually work for Claes and Raballo's relationship, IMO.

Another great song by them is "Once Again". It too, is a love song, but if you approach it from a more platonic love aspect, I think it works for Michele and Kara. She does love him for saving her and protecting her and he is her universe, in a way, if not (nearly) to the level, say Fernando is to Rachel. But she would give him the stars if she could.

That is "comatose" by "Skillet" I thought it kind of fit the Etta/José(?) or Petra/Sandro(?) realationship....just my opinion....

I thought this would fit the Triela/Hillshire-scence in volume 10 when Hillshire killed the terrorists alone and Triela was going to leave him...
It´s "I can´t take it" by "The all american rejects" it´s one of my new favourite bands^0^

I think a good one for Triela is "I'll Stand By You" by The Pretenders.

And if you want to get super-cutesy-sappy, their Fratello song could be "Nobody Else But You" from A Goofy Movie. Just replace Max with Triela and Goofy with Hillshire.

Eh, this is pretty dead, but I've found some songs that really strike me as Hillshire/Triela.

I Guess You're Right by The Posies

This song was a freebie on my new laptop, and I had just finished reading some of the manga when I listened to it. I think it captures the uncertainty that both Hillshire and Triela feel about their relationship. Lyrics

Beautiful World by the Mary Dream

Okay, ignore the weird slideshow-type video. This is not a popular song. XD This reminded me of the scene in the manga where Hillshire is asked whether he believes there is good in the world. Can't find lyrics, but they're pretty easy to scope out. And yes, the singer's voice can get annoying sometimes...

Chemistry of a Car Crash by Shiny Toy Guns

Gah. I miss this old sound...

Okay, this is a little bit of everything, but it strikes me most as Elsa/Lauro. The lyrics, epsecially the chorus, are all about unrequited love. Lyrics

Angie by Cobra Starship

Just for laughs! I've actually been listening to them for a while, before I got into GSG. I'm thinking about making an AMV of this, once I scope out Windows Movie Maker. Lyrics

Here's another one that would go well for Raballo and Claes.

Sorry about it being to an air AMV. I couldn't find the song anywhere else.

I know I did this once. I picked a Linkin Park song for each of the girls, wrote the song name, the lyrics, and explained why. I can't remember what I wrote, sadly. I think the topic was deleted. ;_;

You know what's the perfect song to describe the girls? Go listen to 'One' by Simple Plan, and look up the lyrics to boot.

Well, given that he sucks at playing drums, I'd say it's the three songs that I don't hate.

(j/k I don't mind them so much, I just wish my store's radio network would stop playing a Beatles song every three hours. That and those chick-band versions of 80's power ballads.)

Let me make a little contribution to this topic.

Though the song I'm posting doesn't refer to any particular fratello-cell, in my imagination I believe it represents all the sorrow and sadness both cybogs and handlers experience in the story.

By the way, the band is Italian. It is Gothic-Black Metal, Graveworm.
The song is 'Nocturnal Hymns' (though, bound to GSG drama, to strengthen the emotional relation, I'd entitle it as something like 'Angels Kill')

I listened to it on Ipod and imagined what lyrics concerning GSG could match this song. I came to conclusion that it might represent sorrow and sadness that dwell between two sides of GSG cyborg existance: first - they were granted with lives, say, pulled out of death back to life; second - these brand new lives bear inarguable necessity of killing. I believe, the atmosphere of this song can cover emotions between this contradiction a little. Sad, hopeless and desperate. As if complaining and accusing.
However, in my opinion, the 'most' Gunslinger-like themes ever are still 'tatta hitotsu no omoi' (Il teatrino opening), and the 'main theme' of the soundtrack itself. Both of them, I'd say, represent the will to live no matter what. Yeah, to live to the fullest, was it? Smile

There is one awesome AMV on GSG for Metallica's cover song 'Die Die My Darling', and I haven't found it on the forum - neither have I found any thread with AMVs, so I probably may be offtoping right now... Embarassed
Nevertheless, this one is classic. Not among GSG AMVs. But among AMVs in general. And if there are GSG fan guys here who haven't seen that - do correct your mistake! Very Happy

PS: If about Fratello teams, this one is doubtlessly Elsa and Lauro's theme. Elsa's ode, to shoot put it precise Smile
