Makes sense.

On to my next question.

Are people like Mana, Gackt and Miyavi gay, transsexual, or just doing it for the lulz?

Re: The 'Ask a Question' Thread

Look hard enough and you'll always find the source, even if it's just in your own brain chemistry

I did. I search my entire apartment and that voice was still around. Its very-very audible; as if someone is speaking right beside you but is not there.

If so, then the sudden cure in my sister's heart is explainable? Even the doctors were baffled! Laughing

Then stop spreading propaganda kthx. He can do it himself.

Propaganda? Not propaganda. It is the Word. Now I did say that He seeks us, but the question is do we want Him to seek us? If we allow him to, then surely he will find you. Very Happy

"But printing moar money just devalues it LOL!!!!111!!one!!11eleven!"

In Econ there's something called equilibrium (I don't take econ class so am not so sure). Where supply meets demand, so to say. If the supply is over the demand then there we have the 'drop' in the price and if the demand is not fulfilled by the supply then we have the raise in the price.

So if the government print all that money and doesn't spend it...
...who will? What will that money worth for? The more you print and the less you us (as in such case Imperial Russia around the First World War), the less value that money has and in the end in turns nothing but a piece of paper with good smell and pictures of your figures which makes good toilet papers Laughing

Its like what happened to Germany during the Weimar Era (1919-1933) before Stresseman steps up and change the currency. Back then, a thief would prefer to steal the basket carrying 5kg of Rettenmarks rather than the money itself.

Are people like Mana, Gackt and Miyavi gay, transsexual, or just doing it for the lulz?

And since this relates to my pop culture...

for the lulz. For the lulz I tell you, FOR THE LULZ!!!! *The root of all evil*

Aaaanyway...

Just got me wondering...

What do you guys think of NATO (the North Atlantic Treaty Organization)? Or how about the UN?

Which is why I brought up the bit about hiding the money. You didn't read the post properly. But Kisk gave me a satisfactory answer, so what the hell.

The UN are toothless. NATO are semi-okay, but I'm not sure about what role they have to play now that the Cold War is over.

Yeah skimmed through it. I'm reading a Bio-textbook at the same time while visiting here Laughing

But if the money is hidden that would also lead to possible corruption--then again there's the over-printed money.

NATO has always been more a political and even economic entity more then a purely military one.

Eastern Europe and former Soviet Republics didn't/doesn't want to join NATO for military reasons - they want to become part of a larger political and economic entity that NATO represents (likely as a precursor to eventual EU membership for many of them).

yup. Some didn't believe those cartoons actually came out during the war, some said it was a 'credible attempt to educate people as to the reality and gravity of the nazi threat'.

... one guy claimed 'der Führer's Face' was a basically accurate depiction set as satire so that it would catch people's attention.

What sort of explanation do they have for Donald Duck being an income tax mascot for the governent in The New Spirit and The Spirit of '43? And if they think all was satire, they should see Education for Death.

No one.

To hold a belief regarding the beginnings of reality is to blindly follow what another says.

To allow oneself to be governed by something one cannot see is not courage of any sort. It's mental laziness, a refusal to think for oneself.

Ok, going back a bit, but I have a theory of creation of my own. It works, it happens every day, and it agrees with every other creation theory I've heard to date.

Before I tell you guys, however, I need to ask something. Do any of you know what a brane is?

Sorry for the long post. It's been a LOONG two weeks and I'm just trying to catch up.

Panzer IV wrote:Have you guys ever had a voice talk to your head and do you things despite you trying so hard to get rid of it?

I do actually, all the time except for the getting me to do some stuffs. I even named them. There's Oki, Kasper, Nico, and Larry. They're not imaginary friends as people have often told me, they're just...coherent voices. I only named them to distinguish one from the other.

Awinnell wrote:In heraldry the basilisk is represented as an animal

Nachtsider wrote:I've got a question of my own.

Now,
I know you guys would be like, "But printing moar money just devalues
it LOL!!!!111!!one!!11eleven!" But what if you don't tell anyone you're
printing all that money, even the bulk of your own people? What if you
hoard the printed money, and bring reasonable amounts out into the open
during emergencies instead of flooding the market? Or better yet,
convert the hoarded money into foreign funds?

The States tried that one. It was called the New Deal.

Ah, yes a true classic. Who can forget the mentions of Adolf Elizabeth Hitler and the breaking of legs and...other...legs.

And to end this post, I'll comment on the question of creation. On this subject I'm siding with Eddie Izzard, "Shit happens!".

to my understanding, you basically hafta know what language(s) the site is made of (CSS, PHP, et cetera), have a program that can edit it server side, and crack the admin password. That last bit is what is colloquially known as 'hacking' (though the origin of the term is quite different), and the only tool I know of for it is a brute force attack... which is easily defeated by locking you out after a few tries at the password.
I guess you would have to know how the encryption and security of the software was made to be effective these days.

Yeah, pretty much. It works if you apply it to the world though, and here's how:

A brane is a 'universe' of smaller dimensions than one in which we live. By my interpretation, that could include say a picture in our world. Less dimensions (2) and within our universe, etc.
We have no trouble creating 2d worlds within our own, so who's to say that we aren't a 4d world within a higher dimensional world? It certainly works in our universe, does it not?

Pretty much, yeah.

I like it, primarily because it doesn't rely on some new theory/something that needs to be proved (ok, it says that whoever is in this higher-dimensional universe can create a 4d brane, but that's really just stretching what we already know somewhat) or on God. It works within itself Very Happy

Football football ? or the American game ?

In grade school, I played midfield or defense. I was also the third-in-line backup goalie, which is to say I was a pretty terrible goalie.

As to American football (I like to join the Aussies in calling it 'gridiron'. That really pisses some idiots off)... no. I've played enough real wargames not to need a fake one. The only thinking required in gridiron is done by the coach, the players only have rote memorization to deal with.
Then again, even real football/soccer has gone too damned soft lately... gimme live bladed fencing to first blood any day.

If you have a Mac, a great application is called "TubeTV" which is what I use. It saves it as a Flash .FLV file which you can then convert to whatever other format you want (I use Visual Hub, which is no longer for sale, but it is based on the free FFMPEGX program).

Does anyone here know what PUPS are in computer terminology? When I was running Spybot on my mother's computer, these types of files keep coming up and it's a term I'm not familiar with.

From: http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/P/PUP.html

Acronym for potentially unwanted program

PUP or PUPs is a term used to describe unwanted programs such as Trojans, spyware and adware, along with other malware which may compromise your privacy. Some antivirus and PC security software packages, like McAfee VirusScan, will scan for and protect your system against PUPs. The term PUP was first used by persons at McAfee's Avert research lab to avoid any legal issues that may arise from calling these types of applications "spyware".

Of course I also collect maid figurines, I play games which feature maids and it turns me on so much that I'll wear the maid uniforms and jump in joy.

You need to use the "youtube" tag ( so ). In between those two tags, you enter the text that is listed in the "Embed" field on the Youtube page which hosts the video you want to embed in your reply.

I don't think you need the youtube tags... I think just copying and pasting the embed tag works

Yeah, I just tried it, and it works just fine without the

The Venus flytrap is the 'classic' one.

There are others though...

There is also the Pitcher Plant (which drowns them in collected rainwater) and I believe it's called the Honeydew - it has flexible spines with a sticky resin on the tip to snare insects.
