Questions about Best Artwork:

Does it have to be GSG related?

Do chalk pastels count in the Traditional category?

I think the first one goes without saying.

Anything not crafted using digital means would be lumped under 'Traditional', so the answer would be yes.

I'm thinking the awards might work a bit better if instead of having "Best Male/Female" we have simply "Best" and "Best newcomer". It'll mean that people who are new to the fanon have more of a chance - take Bloedzuiger as an example. He's written two great chapters for his fanfiction, but that's just it. He only has the one, and so won't be considered for best author. "Best Newcomer Author", however, he stands a chance it.

Broaden the range a bit, is all I'm saying. Try and make sure that everyone who wants a chance at an award has the ability to get it, if they try.

If I may make a suggestion? Create separate categories for Canon and OC fics. In my opinion, Canon stories are much more difficult to write, but since all of the voters (well most of them anyway) are OC fanatics, Canon authors pretty much get the shaft.

For the art, I know some people don't have a ton of GSG fanart, like myself. I guess that's the reason I wasn't nominated yet, or people just don't think my art is good enough.

I'm not angry or being selfish, but maybe we should have another category for things other than Gunslinger Girl art. Original art is more important that fan art. My original pieces is what got me into an art college. (I'm still waiting to hear from others.)

Maybe "Best Artist" can be for their total body of work in this forum, and "Best Artwork" can be for a specific piece of GSG fan art?

I seconded the nomination of rusty-spring as Best Male Artist based on his body of work published in this forum, but really only his Laine pictures are GSG-fan art. "Nika", 'Eda", "Sloane Harper", "Marron McCrea" and "Adam Lockard" were all non-GSG related art. So should they be considered as valid criteria to nominate him? Or should he only be nominated for his Laine work (which IMO is still very worthy of nomination)?

I also like Danjo3's idea of doing an OC/OC+Canon and Canon-only "Best Fan Fiction" category.

There will be some minor changes to the nominations and new sections popping up.
Right now some virus is kicking my ass again, so I'll be down and out.

Maybe Nachtsider or TommyGunner70 can make the changes/additions, since we spoke of them in the private admin sections and put in those pieces I have not yet.
