Not sure about Triela's, but here is a classical one.

"Why is a raven like a writing desk?" I am aware of 2 sources where this quote hails from. One has already been mentioned (it's a film), but it is not the original source, which is a book, a children's book, but so famous that most people at least heard of it.

As another bonus,
"Oh frabjous day!" by the same author.

you guys are too good at this. Razz The quote "why is a raven like a writing desk" is from the first book, actually. (Go mad hatter!) Jabberwoky is from the 2nd, through the looking glass. Both are written by Lewis Carrol, or otherwise known as the suspected pedophile.

I am not sure of the above one, but here are some extremely easy ones that hopefully bring back some fond childhood memories.

"It means no worries" --> What is the two works before it? No google!
"I will make a man out of you" --> a song title, and from the same movie company as the first.

Several more for good measure -- this one is not verbatim, but hopefully the idea came across:
"Cherry blosoms fall at exactly 5 cm per second"

Another anime one:
"Massugu Go!"

Hakuna Matata (sp?), and... never seen 'em times 3.

on a considerably less innocent note, what movie is the song Now You're a Man! from?
some lyrics:
what makes a man
is it the woman in his arms,
just 'cause she has big titties?
or is it the way
he fights every day?
no it's prob'ly the titties

All correct Very Happy

How about some classics?

"On the contrary, Aunt ..., I’ve now realised for the first time in my life the vital importance of being earnest."

Or this one -- the film or the play's name would suffice.
"Ah--ah--ow--oo!"

Additional clue from the same play:
"I sold flowers. I didn't sell myself. Now you've made a
lady of me I'm not fit to sell anything else. I wish you'd left
me where you found me."

or another clue, perhaps the most memorable one from the musical:
"The rain in spain stays mainly in the plain"

Is it the animated movie with the shark mofia... and the fish... and the gas station song? And I vaguely recall seahorse racing and betting in it too.

Also, amazing memories Triela!

Have some harder ones!

A poem, and a relatively famous one too, for the lit history majors out there:
"Dull sublunary lovers' love
—Whose soul is sense—cannot admit
Of absence, 'cause it doth
remove
The thing which elemented it.

But we by a love so much refined,
That ourselves know not what it is,
Inter-assurèd of the mind,
Care less, eyes, lips and hands to
miss.

Our two souls therefore, which are one,
Though I must go, endure not yet
A breach, but an expansion,
Like gold to aery thinness beat. "

Or this one,
"One short sleepe past, we wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die."

Finding Nemo then? I think it was a fish one Razz

Also, have a harder question while watching them prance around and sing in My Fair Lady! (Which version? Coloured one? Black and White?): What's the name of the play it is from? It is named after a Greek Sculptor who fell in love with one of his masterpieces.

EDIT: Oh God I have the "I can sing all night" song from My Fair Ladies stuck in my head now!

I'm actually a hardcore otaku who likes maids more than having three meals in a day and I only read books related to maids. Also, I only visit maid cafes. Of course I also collect maid figurines, I play games which feature maids and it turns me on so much that I'll wear the maid uniforms and jump in joy.

Ender's Game, actually... but close enough. Ender's War is just a compilation.

and... that acronym took me a sec, never seen it not capitalized... There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch. haven't read the book, and couldn't tell ya the name of it, but I've seen the reference many a time.

also, @kisk:

I want to say something from Firefly because that sounds like something the great Capt. Mal Reynolds would say.

That would be Vir Cotto and Susan Ivanova from Babylon Five Episode 5 - "The Parliament of Dreams".
