Press Print Screen (takes a screenshot of everything on the monitor) or Alt+Print Screen (current window only). Then just paste it into paint or something

I’ve tried doing both, but nothing ever happens. The cursor blinks and that’s it.TTIO wrote:Press Print Screen (takes a screenshot of everything on the monitor) or Alt+Print Screen (current window only). Then just paste it into paint or something

Re: Desktops
Did you open MS Paint and then use the Paste command? Hitting the PrintScreen button just loads a copy of the desktop image into a memory buffer. It doesn't create an actual image file like OS X does when you screen-capture something.

You're not a gamer unless you have a copy of Deus Ex.

I like to get through the game using stealth to kill and snoop around.
Re: Desktops
I love that freaking game. I remember that if you walked into the ladies bathroom, later on during the mission briefing you'd get told off for it.
ROFL! I mean, it might not seem special now, but back then it was amazing.
Back when I was a kid I could spend hours just chucking objects at people and watching them go "WTF?"

SHIT!! I CANT FIND THE DISK!!

it was impossible in the first game, though you could do it with minimal loss of life.Panzer IV wrote:I love trying to get through the Deus Ex games without killing anyone.
Good luck...
in Invisible War, it was possible, but the endgame was incredibly difficult, since those power-armored troops couldn't be incapacitated in a nonlethal manner... just had to sneak around em.
Re: Desktops
Wait a minute. XP? Swap? I thought M$ always referred to it as virtual memory?
I have to say though, nice picture
And I want all that system info on Windows now too. I didn't know you could do that

Thank you very much I like my picture a lot too
And you can't get the system info, temperature, RAM usage, etc. to show up by default on Windows. In order to do this I had to use this thing called HUD Desktop, and I found info on how to install it here. The reason why it's called swap is most likely because this was created by a Czech guy.

Very interesting style.
I might not be such a computer fanatic as Tommy, but this style of displaying system information is very organized.
I'll ask Tommy to put it on my Laptop

Yeah, that does look very nice to have. I'll start messing around with that right way
Re: Desktops
It took me quite a while to figure out how to get it to work, it was a lot simpler than I thought it would be, lol. It was also the reason why I switched my laptop from Vista to XP (not that it won't work on Vista, it's just a bitch to it).

That is from Makoto Shinkai's 秒速5センチメートル / Five Centimeters Per Second.
He released a number of wallpapers from his films and I have them all as they are all awesome.

Re: Desktops
Thats lovely
what if i made a really annoying animated wallpaper of that like really slowed down.
I would have the pencil just slowly turning maybe have some change to the trail behind it. and id have the two figures running. but really slow and id have to try to keep annoying bits out that would mess wiht my desktop.
I need sleep then ill think of this again and attempt

Turns out it was an Opera 10 bug

I have XKCD and Dilbert widgets! Though, that screenshot is a bit out of date, I've gotten rid of the Wolfram Alpha widget since then...

Despite the awesomeness of Cassandra, I decided to switch to a more mellow, classy looking background. We'll see how long this one lasts, I tend to go through backgrounds like "tissues at a snot party."

Well the only thing that it could get in the way of is the 3 icons i
keep in the top left corner...any maybe the sidebar(but even that i can
make be gone). Everything else i keep in the dock.

anyone got a very convincing picture of shattered glass? i wanna make my desktop look like my screen is broken ^_^

Unfortunately, I don't. However, this reminds me of the time in the IT crowd where there was a small fire in the building. They put a monitor in front of it, and their boss mistook it for a screensaver
