...it's truly sad, how far American cars have fallen since the 60s. But that's okay, some folks haven't needed to replace their cars since then. Or they've just sold 'em to younger folks when their eyesight and reflexes went too far downhill. That's where my '64 and '68 Chevys came from. Still haven't seen another engine/transmission go 600,000+ miles before finally giving out (aside from bigrigs, but that's a whole 'nother league of vehicle). ahh, the 327/turbo 400 combo...

Haha, they certainly don't make them like they used to, here OR over the pond. I am very interested to see how things go from now on, though; Ford is starting to build an impressive fleet of vehicles, and I have hope for Fiat-Chrystler. All I know is, if they bring over the Abarth 500, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I've seen this with vehicles from Japan as well.

I still consider the early 80's to mid 90's the Japanese automobile renaissance. The older KA24 in my Nissan 240 still hauls like a champ, but I've had to replace the transfer case on the 4G conversion on my Mitsu pickup twice now since I did it.

Although to be fair, I could be a little easier on it. sweat

Finally, a car they can share: The Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale by Zagato

Italian design house Zagato has announced the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale, a road-going follow-up to 2010′s TZ3 Corsa racing car concept which won Concept of the Year honours at the Villa del’Este Concours last May. The sumptuous TZ3 Stradale is part of a continuous celebration by Zagato of Alfa Romeo’s centenary.

The most striking design feature on both TZ3 models is the chopped-off Kamm tail, which was inspired by the original TZ, but was also seen on such period cars as the Ferrari 250 GTO and the Shelby Cobra Daytona.

The Corsa was billed and envisioned as a pure racing car, and the TZ3 Stradale is the street-going version, but it keeps that raw intensity, based on the Dodge Viper, which was itself a race car barely disguised in street trim. Unlike the Corsa, which was intended to get its power from a 4.2-liter V-8 rated at 420 horsepower paired with a six-speed sequential gearbox, the Stradale is expected to keep the Viper’s 8.4-liter V-10 and 600-horsepower output.
