Hannigan "Zen" Gertzler

This cyborg was scene just outside of a rural Amish settlement. Little is known about her as the Amish are notorious technophobes. How one of their number managed to be become (or even allowed to become) a cybernetic killing machine is beyond all intelligence agencies.

Her nickname is derived from her icy nerves and rock steady concentration when taking that one, perfect shot.

I personally just watch American and asian movies so i don't really have anyone in mind to play any character...but i think i would be appalled if a live action were to come out. chances are some pricks would probably tone down half or all the 'violent' content.

...and little cute innocent girls with guns?! (lions, tigers and bears oh my!) Holier-than-thou ...i can just see it now!

Which is why Sheo must write the script, and I must direct. Just give us the dough, the cast (see my list), the equipment and Yu's approval, and we'll make a masterpiece over 9000 times greater than any of the shit Hollywood churns out these days (The Dark Knight and Iron Man excepted).

Even though violence wouldnt be the main focus of the movie (if I were making it), when id did come up, it would be graphic and realistic.

Graphic violence and child actresses I have a feeling me and the MPAA would be going round and round. bang head

The main Problem as i see it with a live action adaption is that if you want to do it properly you need to make it a movie in Italian, German and English. And it would feel kinda lame casting someone like Dakota Fanning to play a multilingual european girl. EDIT: To her credit she did one hell of a job in War of the Worlds and Man on fire, but i dont know how well she would handle a mixed language script.(Spanish-English doesnt count Laughing )

Besides as for the adult roles i guess the only well known italian actor i know is Giancarlo Giannini(Casino Royale, Hannibal, Man on fire for example) And he is a bit to old to get one of the "main" character roles.

After years of searching, I found my Rachel, though she needs adjustments made: Victoria Justice!

Oh yeah, she may need to be shorten by 6 inches and her chest inflated a bit, but Hollywood make up artists can do miracles, right? Her with Antonio Banderas, they make up the perfect Fernando/Rachel Fratello.

But she's 6" taller than Rachel, so we need to some cut 6" off her or have Antonio Banderas wear 6" platform shoes to make up the height difference.

Too bad she didnt know little Britney before the Agency. She could have flown her out to Cali for a sleep-over.

BTW, her Dad has a really nice Learjet. Well, technically speaking, its Britneys now

I think that hooking those two up prior to the Agency is a little far fetched, even by B&B standards. And thats saying a lot!

It might have been interesting though, considering that before her life with Section 2, Britney was quite the little party girl. Bong hit drinkin'

That it would, though Rachel was also a partygirl herself, despite Fernando's disapproval rating. But she lived with her druggie mom and only went to him when something happened after the fact.

But what about after joining the SWA?

Before the Agency, Im sure Britney couldve schooled Rachel in the fine art of partying Paris Hilton style, but I dont think theres much room for that now. Im not sure how a rich borg poor borg scenario would work considering that they are both in the same fucked-up situation.

Now if Rachel were to take a sudden interest in surfing (like so many of the other girls) we might have a story.

Since in UN Resolution, Rachel is a bit older and age adjusted, Victoria Justice would be the best one for her.

She acts well, I'll give ya that. But the bone structure of her face... it doesn't fit.

I can't believe you would seriously consider Robin Williams for Marco. If you're going that vein, why not Bob Goldthwaite?

I honestly don't have an alternative at this point, but it would not be hard to find a no-name actor that fits the bill better. I've seen Williams do funny, I've seen him do childish, and I've seen him do creepy, but I've never seen him do Dramatic without any of those, and that's where it falls down for the spot of Marco.

Me thinks your budget would need some careful mediating as well. Smile

Glocks are not the shit. Glocks can fail the same as any other gun. I've seen it personally, and have even heard first-hand accounts of something as basic as a slide-retaining pin snapping, the slide flying off. Get over the obsession and buy what fits your hand, your wallet, and ability.

It's not like Marco was all drama. He had his cheerful, even childish moments (this when interacting with Angie). Williams' performances in films like 'The Night Listener' have me convinced that he'd be able to pull off the right mix of warmth, emotionality and edginess that Marco displayed. I actually considered David Cubitt as an alternative, but the guy's way too blunt and businesslike.

We're working on the premise that we've got oodles and oodles of cash. And face it, Mav - Bob Goldthwait doesn't even look the part. Laughing

But the character she played in the film was a 12-year old girl (she was probably 15-16 at the time she filmed it) and Triela looks older than she is supposed to be.

Isn't that the other way around- Triela looks younger than she is supposed to be...

Im still going to have to go with Ms. Chuchran. Shes pretty much spot on. Or should I say was? Alas, she getting older too. Hell, you practically have to recast this film every other year.

Maybe along with bottomless pockets we can also say we have access to a time machine. Laughing

Go back to V11 and kill Dante during his rally, and go back to V9 and get Marco/Angie out before the truck bomb explodes!

They're both excellent actors (legendary might be a good word) but here again you have the age factor. Hopkins 71 and Hackman 79 (hes also retired from acting).

You are all very creative in your selections and descriptions of potential actors and actresses of both canon characters and your own creations.
I picture Tom Cruise as Lauro because in certain angles in the series, it looks like the expression of the eyes match. As for my own fan fiction characters, I picture some one like Steve Austin (Lee Majors) or his boss Oscar Goldman (Richard Anderson).
'Based on the Martin Caidin novel Cyborg, The Six-Million Dollar Man follows the adventures of former astronaut Steve Austin, who is part man and part machine. After an accident, Austins legs, right arm, and left eye were replaced by bionic implants that enhanced his abilities.
With his improvements, Steve Austin became a secret agent for the Office of Scientific Intelligence (OSI).'

Well, I've been thinking about this since shortly after joining here. I wouldn't say I've put a lot of thought into it, but I will say I have put too much thought into it regardless Razz Though it's been a while since I revisited this so I'm gonna have to stretch my brain here a bit.

I guess I should begin with that I'm looking at this from the perspective of how to give this the best chance of actually being a movie, so balancing being faithful with adjusting it to American tastes, so I'll be sticking with the main storyline as much as I can. But I also want to add that the fanfiction and ideas here are pretty awesome and would make for very good movie material nontheless.

The first thing that might have to change might very well be the name - I don't know if a movie called "Gunslinger Girl" would really fly with American audiences. Maybe, maybe not, I dunno.

Anyway, I'd think the first movie (assuming that there would be sequels which itself is an iffy proposition for any movie) would probably focus mainly on Henrietta and Triela - Henrietta's story would go from the beginning of the manga to before right when Jose started to noticeably care less (so sometime before the arch with storming the tower and such) and end with the investigation of Elsa's death - in fact the very end of that, with Henrietta talking about Elsa's murder-suicide should be the very end of the movie and should parallel Triela's story's conclusion, which speaking of which go up to the part where Triela runs away in...where ever that city was, I forgot. Obviously there will have to be a lot of condensing too, to fit it all into even a 2 hour 40 minute long movie (which is an insanely long length for a movie. Limiting the focus to two of the girls + their handlers will help too; the sequels can focus on the others.
