:lol!:

Ya know, this may sound weird, but I could almost see a Hillshire/Triela hook-up, and I think the reason is Triela. Its the way she acts and carries herself. Shes so serious and intense. In her short time with the Agency, shes been through more then a hundred people have experienced in their entire lifetimes.

I guess Im just drawn to her character the way guys are drawn to tomb raider Lara Croft or chicks to James Bond. Its that mystique. With Triela, you have to keep reminding yourself that shes just a kid. I mean think about it. In vol.7, chap.38 (The sheep and the goats) shes making Italian history, while other girls her age are trying to make the cheerleading squad. If she really existed, and I could meet her, Id ask for her fucking autograph.

This reminds me of the Ronald Reagan assassination attempt and how Secret Service Agent Tim McCarthy took a bullet for the President. I know this is a bad angle and you only see him for a split-second, but its all I could find.

In the days before body armor was required, this man jumped in front of the President and took one square in the chest.

That Others May Live. That's the creed of the PJs. Since boot camp I've been listening to stories about these men. Men like A1C WILLIAM H. PITSENBARGER. Took a rescue mission his buddy was slated for, because his friend was on his last day in Nam. Refused evacuation while there where still army troops on the ground. Scavenged weapons from the dead. Fought of the enemy, and cared for the wounded. All so men he didn't even know could go home at the end of the day. I'm lucky enough to be on a base where they do part of their training. Every time I see one of these guys I have the urge to shake their hands. I don't do it that much, but they give me pride to be in the armed forces. That Others May Live. All these other special forces train to kill. The PJs train to save lives, often at the lose of their own. I don't know if it's the beer, but I feel like crying...

I salute them PJs. Read an article on Jason Cunningham when the Afghan campaign was at its height - he was the damn man, bleeding to death out there in the Shah-i-Kot snow that others might live. That guy oughta have received the Medal of Honor.

+1
Although my admiration for and allegiance are SF and their "de oppresso liber" motto, the PJ's "(these things we do) that others may live" is the best and most noble SOF motto in the world. I was glad I shook the hand of a PJ and his brother who's training for CCT, and wished them all the best, some weeks ago

I've sobered up a bit since that last post, so I'm not getting quite so crazy emotional anymore. It is a hell of a thing these guys do though. Men like Jason Cunningham, William Pitsenbarger, and so many others offer a gold standard to me. I hope that in a situation like that I could find it in myself to be that selfless, that brave. Who knows though.

$50? Yeah I suppose. For some reason though I just find myself really glad content like that is blocked at work.

Sadly. Even sadder is the fact that it's far from the most disgusting porn out there... it's just that most of the stuff that's worse isn't actually legal.

ok, now it's getting closer to home. One next step and we're entering the realm of snuff. All I can say is if you ever see one and doubt it's real, please dont dig deep trying to find out...and we all know certain characters who're deeply affected by it. 8MM also comes to mind *shudder...shudder*

Wileama, it's not too late to roll the dice. Can you reclassify to that MOS? There's more need for SOF personnel now than ever, since we're hitting more and more non-linear, unconventional warfare

You miss understand me. I don't want to be a PJ. I have a lot of respect for them, but it's not something I would personally want to do. It's two years of extremely difficult training. After that it's another six years in the force. Your always deployed, you put yourself in harms way, and you're going to end up taking some ones life. There are parts of the job which I'm sure are simply amazing. However it I don't think it would be enough of a return for all the other crap. So I know that when push comes to shove I wouldn't have the drive to make it through their training.

For me it's more about the ability, and willingness to sacrifice for others. Would I put a wounded soldier in the basket instead of myself. Would I leap on a grenade for my squad. Could I be a person like, or would I be more selfish? I don't know if it's just extraordinary times make extraordinary people, or that some people are always just extraordinary. It's just I wonder if I could ever be that extraordinary, and I'm left with doubt.

Woah this topic is waaaay off topic! @_@ Here are my veiws on HllshireXTriela...

I don't ship the pairing, but from a fan fic POV I think it's good. I read one somewhere and it was really funny and portrayed their characters really well while showing their relationship. I think that's the only handelerXcyborg pairing I can see...

In the freezing tent, Hillshire reaches for Triela's leg, twists it at an odd angle to her hip and pressed in at her glutious maxiums. With a loud pop, the leg module separates from the hip module, and Hillshire reaches into the femur-knob to activate the heater element inside the leg. He then drags the leg with him back to his sleeping bag.

Triela: HEY!!!

Hillshire: You got another leg with a heater core in it, go use that!
