Mini Character Battle: Canaan vs. Sousuke

After seeing Kodoku running his little Dante versus Dante match up here I decided I'd get in on the action by running a little match up between two of my own nominations that lost during tiebreakers. They're an interesting pair -in some respects quite different, yet in other ways very reminiscent of each other. I actually have the two of them working together in a crossover fanfic I've been working on. They're actually kind of cute together.

Anyhow:

A Japanese boy who was orphaned in a plane crash at a young age. A lengthy chain of events led to him becoming a child assassin, a guerrilla fighter, a mercenary for hire, and finally a member of the secretive international paramilitary organisation known as Mithril. When Mithril needed someone to go undercover to protect an “ordinary” Japanese high school girl, his age and ethnicity made him an ideal candidate… aside from his complete lack of social skills. His attempts to blend in with ordinary Japanese society were an unmitigated disaster, but he performed exceptionally well once he actually had a threat to deal with. He is a very skilled soldier and Arm Slave pilot (Arm Slaves are perhaps best described as giant suits of powered armour) and also has useful knowledge of guerrilla warfare tactics. He is able to maintain exceptionally calm under combat conditions. In fact, he is so good at staying calm that when given an advanced Arm Slave equipped with what can best be described as a telekinetic weapons system, he had difficulty using said system because he was too calm. Despite this, he did end up becoming close enough to his mission primary for it to have a serious impact on his professional life (though it took him a while to get that attached). A girl from the Middle East who was born with Synthesia (a condition where responses along one sensory pathway can trigger reactions along
another). Exposure to a biological weapon as a child led to her Synthesia abilities being enhanced, granting her a practically superhuman level of situational awareness. After being rescued from the rubble of her destroyed village by an experienced mercenary, she was given extensive combat training. Her excellent situational awareness, agility, and shooting skills make her a veritable one person army. On the other hand, she has some rather childlike tendencies (she wasted several rounds of ammunition shooting balloons out of the air while on a sniping assignment during a festival) and has been shown to have great difficulty acquiring and reading her foes without the benefit of her synthesia abilities. I'm going to have to go with Sousuke 'cause I'm all for stoic characters.

I'm going to vote for Canaan winning this battle because Sousuke would probably at some point brush up against her chest or ass, go all paralyzed blushy which Canaan would've already taken advantage of due to her heightened Synesthesia.

i agree with you that Canaan would probably win like you said boomer but my vote is still for sousuke

Yeah, Canaan is definitely not one of the bustiest anime characters. The more you know!

I'd rate it as an 'A' or 'B' cup

Flat or busty; you have to admit at some point Sousuke is going to have some close contact with Canaan. And regardless of the situation at hand, Sousuke has yet tonot go paralyzed blushy when he is so much as teased on anything intimate.

Canaan on the other hand...poor, poor Sousuke.

Actually, it would not be so much Sousuke locking up like a Rover 75's brakes, but that Kaname would appear and beat him senseless, saving Canaan the effort.

Boomer, keep in mind that Sousuke once managed to accidentally grope Kaname's chest without realising it. He isn't always awkward in situations involving girls. Sometimes he straight up doesn't notice things. Besides, he's a combat pragmatist. I don't think the opponent's gender would worry him too much in a life or death struggle.

As for Kaname, once she was cued in to what Sousuke was she stopped beating him up for perceived perversity. She beats him up for causing trouble with his war nut antics. Heck, if we consider Fumoffu canon she once found Tessa in bed with Sousuke and immediately (and correctly) concluded that Tessa had crawled into bed with him after he had gone to sleep. (How many anime girls have ever managed to do that?)

That being said, I'm voting for Canaan. Given Canaan's insane agility and superhuman situational awareness, I think she'd have the edge in any situation where Sousuke didn't have an Arm Slave, and even if he did have one I wouldn't call it a sure victory for him.

I was going to end this match tonight, but I never posted a specific end date for this match, so I'm going to extend it until Saturday night.

Looks like a 3-3 tie. (Didn't have time to update this last night because I was workign on tournament updates in the middle of a LAN party.) Don't think I'm going to bother with a tiebreaker for this one.
