Next Time, Take the Train!

In preparation for the premiere of Murder on the Orient Express on PBS' Mystery!, they broadcast a one-hour special on the current Orient Express with host David Suchet (who plays the role of Hercule Poirot in both this movie and ITV's Agatha Christie's Poirot).

Personally, I'd love to take it from London to Venice, and if Kara saw this special, she'd be adamant with Michele that they do so, as well.

That and the Siberian Express are 2 train rides Fernando would not mind taking; taking Rachel and Francesca, the former kicking and screaming if on a bad day...

the craziest thing about the Orient express is that they originally had to change the bogies sets several times along the way,the carriages jack themselves up to allow this,the carriages are the only part to make it all the way,the locomotives were hired from whichever company ran the rail network in that country,not all of which originally used standard gauge rails,hence the self jacking carriages,sadly the Orient Express is no longer in service having been cancelled in 2009

Somehow I don't think the Orient Express would be high up Jethro and Monty's travel plans... not unless there was some specific reason to be on it =P

Monty: (deadpan) You want me to get on a train. A train of the slow variety, for no other reason than to be on said train and showboat. Sorry, but I can think of better uses for my time.

but thats a special charter train, its not a regular service,and it hasn't entered the Orient since 1977 when they stopped going to Istanbul,so it really is just for show !

Uh, ho...I've got an episode on the drawing board that involves exactly that scenario.

Personally I'd think Kara would have a field day in Istanbul...the city is loaded with tailors & goldsmiths who can make exactly what you want at a fraction of what you'd pay in Europe. Elio has all his suits made there.

As great as they are, to which Leon has his and Fernando's suits built there to their specifications, they are not name brands like Armani, Hugo Boss, Prada... If its not name brand, Kara wont take it.

But Leon does by the name brand suits and have them modified there for next to nothing. Fernando has started to do the same thing as to not rely on Leon but it takes up to 3 months to get them back at times. The fastest he ever got a modded suit back was 5 weeks. Fernando thinks he's doing something wrong.

BTW: Fernando has a couple of electronics hack places in Hong Kong and Taiwan that does similar to gadgets like it is done with suits. Sometimes all they want as an idea, operating principle and a maybe a drawing plan on how it looks and they make it in about 40 days. Its amazing what you can do with your own chip foundry.

In terms of her general clothes, that is true. But for jewelry and "local fashion", she'd definitely be interested.

Besides, if it came from Michele, Kara would happily wear sackcloth and ashes.
