*is waiting for King of Fighters XII and Blaz Blu*

*Plays Street Fighter IV in the mean time*

... Bong hit

*Is thoroughly disappointed*

So... why does it play more like Street Fighter 2 than Street Fighter 3?

They backtracked... goddammit...

Oh mann... I finally picked up Super Smash Bros Brawl... I love it man! It is so good. I hated Melee. I still suck at fighting games (I'm an RPG girl) but I love the Subspace Emissary!

FUCK YEAR! F.E.A.R. 2!

Also about the ending... lol!

Spoiler:
Ghost rape?! I wonder if this would have bypassed the censors if Alma and Becket switched genders...

Gotta say, though, it was a complete mind fuck... to say the least, lol.

Hey, I've played the dart version of that. It's frustrating as hell.

Speaking of Tower Defence, has anyone played Defense Grid: The Awakening? I'm thinking of downloading it.

Rubber's don't always work and on top of that people are dumb. I've heard some lame ass excuses for why guys don't like using condoms. *sigh*

And now-a-days, it's more like first a baby, then a marriage (sometimes girls stay single too), then a divorce and you end up throwing you baby at your parents. Actually, I've been hearing ad's on the radio by the police. They made a new program that is so mothers can anonymously hand over their child to the authorities instead of abandoning them in the garbage.

Is it really THAT good? I'm just unsure about all of it.

BTW, when buying games do you listen to 'professional' game reviewers?

no one is completely unbiased.

I'll listen to what just about anyone has to say about a game... doesn't mean I'll necessarily believe 'em, though.

and the Fallout games are... dark. They also have a great sense of humor... making fun of 1950s American sci-fi, post-apocalyptic shows/movies such as Mad Max, and anything else the writers can think of. But through it all, Fallout is about what happens after a nuclear world war... as you wander around, you see the results of failed attempts to survive the bombs, the mutants, or just other people's greed in an anarchistic void of a society.

Werd to LoC. I really like Fall Out 3. Be prepared for some nightmares though. ^.^;;
Though I dunno how much you would like it because it takes place in America and pokes fun at Americans and their humor. I think I like it so much because I've been to Washington D.C. and I know a lot of what the game is making fun of or mimicking.

But honestly, if you're into shooting games, I'd say pick up a copy. You can honestly do ANYTHING in that game... I play a good guy who tries to talk things through first and kills by stealth. My brother plays a stealthy killer. He's beyond evil though. My stepdad plays a man who's dumb and all muscle. But overall, he too, is a good guy. I think everyones character reflects who they already are in real life. Wouldn't you agree? Wink

Oh, and LoC I did what I said I was gonna try. I went into the overseers office, I couldn't open the pod BEFORE I did the mission. I was pissed. It was such a waste of time. So I reloaded my game from before I leveled up in that way and did the mission the good way of course. Very Happy

So its basically a game in a 'what if' scenario when Soviet Russia and USA heats the Cold War using ICBMs and A-bombs leading to a nuclear apocalypse?

Ohohohohoho~

This takes in a practically obliterated US city with some humor about 1950 America, ne...?

to a point. My first character is supposed to be Dr. Horrible (specialized in energy weapons, science and repair throughout the game)... I was gonna start him off good and then go evil, but once I had done a bunch of good, I found that I'd either have to murder people I'd made friends with or steal everything that wasn't nailed down to go all the way evil (the only big evil thing I've done is let the ghouls into Tenpenny tower, getting all of the elitist yuppie bastards killed Evil )... but that still didn't take my karma down below 'very good'.

...lately, though, I've made a thief character who I'm keeping at a neutral alignment by helping people survive and then robbing them blind.

and I've made a charismatic big guns user who started out evil (blew up megaton) and is helping people out left and right to redeem herself.

I find it hard to play neutral. I like being neutral but I also don't rob people blind or kill people for no reason. I dunno, when push comes to shove I choose to be good.

What happens when you do that? Also, have you ever killed Three dog? What happens if you do?

Actually no. It takes place in the year 2700 or so. In the year 2200 China nuked the United States. The decor and what not of America at the time of the bombing is portrayed like in the 1950's. It actually isn't the 1950's though.

Three Dog: I think he's one of those invincible people you can only knock out. I'll get back to you on that though.

Timeline: the 'Great War' was supposed to have taken place in 2077. by Fallout three, it's up to the 2270s.
but the whole thing is based on a sort of 'What if the present was the way the future was envisioned in 1950s suburban America?' thing.

PanzerIV, it's as LoC says - the game has a "retro-futurist" aesthetic. It's not so much set in the future, as set in a vision of what we once thought the future might be like. That's why the game is populated by atomic cars, clanking robots, art-deco architecture and the apple-pie serenity of the virtual reality segment later on in the game. While the technology may be 'unrealistic' to modern sensibilities, it's important for that little dusting of fantasy to make the game more appealing - if the wastelands were unremittingly bleak and desperate and practical then they wouldn't be very engaging and would bore after a while.

If you kill Three Dog, Galaxy News Radio will continue to be broadcast but Three Dog himself will be replaced by his technician, Margaret. I don't believe that she actually has a physical presence in the game, you just hear her over the radio. Margaret doesn't bother with pursuing the Good Fight that Three Dog championed, and just occasionally breaks up the music with announcements that she's the DJ now that Three Dog has been killed.

Really? She doesn't fight the good fight. Thats sad.... Does anyone have a link to a video of Megaton exploding?

Ask and ye shall receive, Cherubino:

And the blast at night - for the delectable frisson of the "Manhatten Project" historical allusions.

Sadly, I can't actually follow through with this quest in the game myself. With a processor speed of 1.75 GHz my computers runs at the pace of dried treacle compared to what the game demands - I don't doubt that trying to render this would cause it to catch light! Sad

spoilerized 'cause it's God of War 3... and we should all know what God of War is famous for.
Spoiler:

to quote someone in the Escapist Magazine's forums:
Indigo_Dingo wrote:Holy shit. Hoa-lee shit. The enemies skin splitting open, and internal organs spilling out upon death. No More Heroes was censored because it had blood spray, and this game is trying to teach us where to stab people to allow for maximum organ evacuation. Supposedly, this was in the games latest trailer, but had to be censored before the trailer could go out.
Whether this sounds like the most awesome thing ever or signs that they're going way too far is debateable, what I see as the major issue here is the fucking review board. So far, none of the enemies have looked humanoid in the rough sense of the word. That said, we will have to eventually kill the gods of Olympus (and everyone else, but they're the ones we already know), and they will look very human. And thats if they don't throw Heracles, Oedipus, Achilles or Oddyseus before them to attempt to delay their slaughter. I can see this as being the first major release that is denied sale in Australia for being too violent, since the developer will probably be unlikely to tone down the violence, due to it being both a neccesary plot device to show the brutal reality of what Kratos has become from the tauntings of those who controlled him as well as proving the undeniable lack of a good guy through his enemies usage of the same brutal tactics and attitudes all the way up the ladder, and is always fucking awesome.

...this looks to be the pinnacle of what a 'stick it to the man' game can be...
In the end... there will be only chaos. Muh-m-muhahahaha!

I just figured if you are playing 'evil' character, its best to blow megaton and kill the ghouls to leave yourself in a very-very classy home.

Because getting the ghouls in would meant the death of all residents--going through the good karma path or not. Which meant you can't complete Herbert 'Daring' Dashwood's unmarked quest of finding Argyle in Rockopolis. If the ghouls were in through good karma path, Roy would have a bickering with Tenpenny and he would have some sort of 'accident'. Then the rest of Tenpenny residents turn to ghouls, and if you talk to the named-ghoul friends, they say that the bigots were in the basement.

Found that out the hard way. After that, I talk to Roy, he say I should leave or I'll end the same way as the bigots, equip the minigun, the power armor, and rip the entire ghoul-residents to shreds. Everyone. must. die.

It actually brought my Karma down from good to neutral.

YOU GOTTA' SHOOT THEM IN THE HEAD!!! Laughing

Although personally, the house in Megaton is much better than that in Tenpenny. Its moddable, to be exact...with a price

By the way...has anybody went through the unmarked quest in a town called Andale?

the Tenpenny suite is moddable too... the problem with it is the vendors in the tower don't have as much good stuff to trade as Moira.
and you can complete the Manhandled manservant quest before you let the ghouls in, if you want.
Andale is pretty simple. Just get caught looking in their shed, and they attack you. Kill all of the parents and tell the remaining old man to take care of the kids for good karma. Or you can kill the old man too, and the kids will act like he's takin' care of 'em while he's rotting on the floor next to 'em.
gotta love broken quests Laughing

also, Lucky's isn't terribly special, 'cept for the lucky shades that you find on a mannequin in there. the guy who lives in the place is just an unnamed scavenger with a normal inventory.

If I replay the game I am gonna play an evil character. And I didn't know you could do this to Mr. Burke. I took the black widow feat at third level actually. Damn.

I love mods. So far, I could never find it complete playing FO3 without mods...

...so I downloaded them, test them, and bathe in their glory. I love the Anchorage DL content, I love the WeaponModKit mod (modified my Wazer Wifle to have the capability for auto-fire), I love just about ANYTHING in fallout now that I've modded pretty much everything! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

The auto-wazer wifle could actually mow down a large amount of enclave and super mutants with relative ease~. The Gauss rifle is just too nice to miss...I just love that weapon.

Speaking of which do you guys download mods...?

haven't looked into modding the game.. that 'Windows Live' crap takes the fun out of it... though I should probably get the Pitt pack someday, Operation Anchorage sounds kinda... meh.
...and why would you need combat mods for that game..? kinda takes the fun out of it if you're nigh invincible... unless you're just testing the MIRV or something...

...looking into available mods... I wish the game had been released with stuff like this... I find it a bit too convenient, as-is.
...I also wish for better weapon repair breakdown. can't repair a pistol with a worn out slide using parts from another pistol with a worn out slide...

I'm actually a hardcore otaku who likes maids more than having three meals in a day and I only read books related to maids. Also, I only visit maid cafes. Of course I also collect maid figurines, I play games which feature maids and it turns me on so much that I'll wear the maid uniforms and jump in joy.
