The original Dominion was a classic for it's sheer LOLZ. Wasn't quite as much a fan of New Dominion because of the more serious tone.

New Dominion was one of my first animes, and as such holds a special place in my heart. I was amused when I saw Dominion later on, but it didn't strike the same chord with me.

Now, if they'd do an adaptation of Dominion Conflict 1: No More Noise, an outstanding follow-up manga, I would be SO happy.

When I first saw that advert on the television, the first thought that occured to me was - is Virgin's PR consultant actually an anime fan?

Hmm. I wonder if there are any column inches in this.

Incidentally, Kiskaloo, what is the gossip in Boeing about Virgin announcing that it's taking a big order for new aeroplanes from Airbus? Indifference at an irrelevancy, frustration at a lost contract, rage at a rival's profit, contempt at an anticipated failure...?

Virgin America already operates an all-Airbus narrowbody fleet (A319-100 and A320-200), so while I imagine Boeing responded to their RFP, it was with the view that they likely were not going to get the order.

V Australia is rumored to be placing a top-up order for the 777-300ER (they currently operate five) and Virgin Blue and Pacific Blue both fly the 737-800. Virgin Atlantic also has a 15 frame 787-9 order (with 8 options), so SRB shows us love, as well. Smile

The A320neo right now is pretty much a "risk free" purchase decision for any A320 operator who plans to take deliveries of the A320 family post-2015. Airlines have four years to place their engine orders, so they can see how CFM's LEAP-X and P&W's PW1100G shake-out. And if neither does shake-out, then they can just keep taking A320s.

As for Boeing, rumor is that we'll announce our narrowbody plans within the next six months. Personally, I think we'll also go the neo (new engine option) route and adopt at least LEAP-X, if not also the PW1100G. While the 737NG sits lower to the ground than the A320, and therefore won't have as large a diameter fan, the 737NG has always had a smaller fan and BPR than the A320, but compensates with lower weight and a bit better wing aerodynamics so fuel consumption is a wash between them. Boeing and CFM have also introduced a new "Evolution" engine and nacelle package for deliveries starting this year that will reduce specific fuel consumption by about 2%. maintenance costs by 4% and CO2 by an good bit.

I expect much the same with the neo option, though the wind tunnel boys were testing a 737NG with a nose blister (ala the A330-200F) to allow a slightly lower nose gear hook-up to raise the nose and raise the engine clearance.

I have never laughed this hard while reading something in a long time. It's a comic that's written by a 5 year old, and illustrated by his older brother who's a cartoonist. It's called Axe Cop. The only way I can describe it is pure WTF hilarity that can only come from a 5 year old's imagination. It's frigging hilarious. Some of the best are called "Ask Axe Cop."

Here's a link to the comic's webpage. I'd recommend reading them all. ROTFL

Axe Cop is pure, refined win, stemming from a child's mind and brought to life by a brother's love and artistic skill. It is everything that is awesome about being a child, when the world is limitless and nothing is impossible.

The funny thing? I can actually see Angie, Henrietta, and Rico collaborating on scripting a strip similar to Axe Cop. Patricia, of course, would be the artist. The critical and commercial reception would put that of The Prince of the Land of Pasta to shame.

Important warning to all...

...there's nothing wrong with heavy drinking.

...and nothing wrong with visiting your local tattoo parlor.

But doing them on the same night in not advisable.

Very true. For if he was sober he could've at least told them to get it right.

LONDON (Reuters) - Mexico's ambassador in London has written a furious letter to BBC bosses to complain about "offensive and xenophobic" comments made by presenters of the popular TV motoring show "Top Gear."

Ambassador Eduardo Medina Mora was infuriated by "insults" made by presenters Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson and James May during Sunday's episode of the cult show, which has been sold to television channels around the world.

"Why would you want a Mexican car? Because cars reflect national characteristics don't they?," said Hammond as they discussed the Mexican sports car, the Mastretta.

"Mexican cars are just going to be lazy, feckless, flatulent, overweight, leaning against a fence asleep looking at a cactus with a blanket with a hole in the middle on as a coat."

The trio then described Mexican food as "refried sick" before suggesting Mexicans spent all day asleep.

"That's why we won't get any complaints about this because at the Mexican embassy the ambassador's going to be sitting there with a remote control like this," said Clarkson, pretending to slump in a chair, snoring.

However, the ambassador did complain, demanding the BBC order the presenters to make a public apology.

"The presenters of the programme resorted to outrageous, vulgar and inexcusable insults to stir bigoted feelings against the Mexican people, their culture as well as their official representative in the united Kingdom," he wrote.

"These offensive, xenophobic and humiliating remarks serve only to reinforce negative stereotypes and perpetuate prejudice against Mexico and its people."

There was no immediate comment from the BBC about the complaint.

Top Gear is well-known for its edgy banter and its hosts are no strangers to controversy. Hundreds of viewers complained in 2008 about a joke made by Clarkson about murdering prostitutes.

Not for me, since I'll just stick with the Japanese and subs. Wink

The problem, Jezza, is that Top Gear is shown at 8PM. If it had been noonish, you'd have been okay because the Ambassador would have been in his siesta period.
