To my knowledge the characters from both of those shows are related in some way. CLAMP does stuff like that.

Tsubasa reused the character designs from CCS, just making the leads older. A number of the relationships appear to be the same, but the characters themselves are pretty different.

Sakura and Tomoyo from Cardcaptors look an awful lot like Henrietta and Angie from GSG.

I always thought Yui from K-On looked similar to Henrietta from season 2. Though Yui is SUPPOSED to be adorably cute. Henrietta of corse looks weird.

Oh wait. There is familiar face with Henrietta is Kana from Kanamemo.

I wouldn't say that Alfisti. It might not be in the Jethro and Monty style but it's still a good drawing, much better than anything I could create. the funny thing is I have bother of those series for years and never noticed the ressemblence until now. It's like they took all the brains out of Kaname and gave them to Tessa to make Ruri.

I'd once heard that Full Metal Panic and Nadesico had the same character designer, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Of the two Nadesico came first. On the other hand, Kaname's hair is described as black in the actual text of the original novels (Tessa is platinum blonde).

Actually FMP apparently has influence from a bunch of stuff. Sousuke apparently bears some resemblance to both a character from Ruruoni Kenshin and apparently a character from one of the Gundam series as well (the author of FMP is a Gundam otaku). So maybe I shouldn't be criticizing Gundam 00 too much for seemingly borrowing elements from FMP. That being said Gundam 00 is pretty terribly written, so who cares if I accuse its main characters of being lame knock offs of FMP characters? (Especially obvious with Lock-On Stratos, who is basically a brown haired Kurz Weber without as much of a sense of fun. They were even voiced by the same person.)
