Deadliest (Fictional) Warrior/War Machine

Post by SPARTAN 119 on Tue 1 Mar 2011 - 19:40

OK, I've come up with an idea to try to revive the Anime characters voting games. I might have a test match later. As you might have guessed from the title, it is loosely based off the TV series Deadliest Warrior, only using anime, video game and other characters or military vehicles/ships/etc. Basically, I give the abilities and weapons for each side and give my opinions on who holds the advantage. Then, I leave it up to the voters on who they think would win. I might do a short fic showing the fight, like the scene at the end of Deadliest Warrior episodes

As for the fights themselves, I will try to compare similar and/or roughly even characters in the fights. This is NOT a tournament, otherwise we'd have unfair fights in some of the rounds. Some examples:

*Chise (Saikano) vs. Iron Man (Movie version)
*Archer (Fate/Stay Night) vs. Nanoha Takamichi(Self-titled series)
*Revy (Black Lagoon) vs Canaan (Self-Titled series)
*Kotonoha Katsura (School Days) vs. Rena Ryuguu (Higurashi)
*Asagami Fujino (Kara no Kyoukai) vs. Lucy (Elfen Lied)
*Light Yagami (Death Note) vs Shiki Ryougi (Kara no Kyoukai)
*The Covenant (Halo series) vs. The Scrin (Command and Conquer series)
*Scrin Eradicator Hexapod (Command and Conquer) vs. Covenant Scarab (Halo)
*Beatrice the Golden Witch (Umineko) vs. Yuki Nagato (Haruhi Suzumiya series)

Those aren't the only matches that will occur. She'll have a place as soon as I find her an opponent. Wait... I've got it: Roberta vs The Terminator (the original).

Nanoha Takamachi versus the RX-78-2 Gundam Razz

She's basically the RX-78-2's magical girl counterpart after all (well, the RX-93 n if you're talking the older version. Her staff has blaster bits.). And while we're at it, Fate Testarossa versus Char Aznable for similar reasons. Laughing

I already did Sousuke Sagara versus Canaan, but it might be worth revisiting.

Re: Deadliest (Fictional) Warrior/War Machine

Post by SPARTAN 119 on Fri 25 Mar 2011 - 13:47

Okay, test match up people:

Kotonoha Katsura (School Days) vs. Rena Ryuguu (Higurashi)

The match will be open starting now, ending in about a week, depending on how long it takes me to respond, or when people stop responding.

119s analysis of the characters:

Rena Ryuguu
Age:14
Hometown: Hinamizawa, Japan
Favored Weapon: large cleaver
Bio: (shortened from wikipedia): Rena is a girl who returned from Ibaraki to Hinamizawa one year ago. Rena briefly moved out of Hinamizawa, only to suffer the effects of the Hinamizawa Syndrome and go berserk at her new school before returning. She is especially sensitive about the topic of Oyashiro, a local god of Hinamizawa. At one point, her delusions about the god's true nature go so far as to make her take the school hostage, trying to unreasonably force a police investigation into the matter. When she needs a weapon, she uses a large cleaver. She abandoned her real given name, Reina (礼奈?), when she returned to Hinamizawa after the divorce of her parents, holding herself responsible and hoping to begin life anew.

Kotonoha Katsura
Age:~16
Hometown: Sakakino (sp?), Japan
Favored Weapon: "switchblade cleaver/ saw-thing"
Bio (modified from Wikipedia): Genteel and reserved, Kotonoha Katsura is a student in year one of class four who is on the student council and serves as one of the most pivotal characters in the story. A cute and noticeably well-endowed bookworm, she becomes the initial love interest of Makoto early into their second term, and with some effort from Sekai Saionji, becomes his girlfriend after she reciprocates her affection for him. While Kotonoha for the most part is calm and gentle, she has a very delicate conscious, which under stress leads to irrational culpability, delusions and even malice, culminating in murder.

Deciding Factors: Weapons, Physical Size/Strength, and Skill

Weapons: Kotonoha and Rena both use a large meat cleaver or machete-type weapon, Katsura's being slightly different from Rena's as it appears to have a sort of switchblade mechanism (I doubt such a weapon really exists, but that's not the point). However, Katsura's weapon seems to have a lighter blade and generally be of lighter weight, while Rena's cleaver appears to have a heavier blade. This means Rena's blade can strike with more force and better block attacks.
Advantage: Rena

Strength/Size: While is two years older and Kotonoha appears to be taller than Rena, Rena is capable of striking with incredibly powerful force for her size, in one instance knocking a baseball bat out off the hand of Keiichi Maebara and launching it several feet with her cleaver. Because of this, I list Kotonoha and Rean as even.
Advantage: even

Skill: While neither of the of the two girls have had any formal training, Rena has used her weapon multiple times, while Katsura has used it only once. Rena has also proven she has some skill at parrying enemy attacks with the blade as well as attacking.
Advantage: Rena

119's vote: Rena

The initial results indicated the Rena has the advantage, but the result of the fight will be decided by the vote.

You asked for the Deadliest. I gave you Nuku Nuku... her and Emi destroyed 1/2 of Tokyo without seriously hurting anyone.

Anyways, according to the list you have, my answer is Lucy. In the Manga she was worse than the anime, and saying that she was damn deadly in the anime.

The problem with the above fight is this, though: take away Makoto's betrayal as motivation, and Kotonoha winning the fight is highly unlikely. I don't see her 'nice boat' outburst as anything but a one-time act of passion. For that reason alone, I'm going to have to go with Rena.

New fight, just to see if anyone's still interested. To save time, I'll use the badass tournament:

to be her Servant in the fifth Holy Grail War, in which seven magi fight
to obtain the Grail of legend. While most Servants are the spirits of
old heroes, like Hercules, nobody knows who Archer is, not even himself.
He's noted to be quite sarcastic and coldly logical, often clashing
with the protagonist's idealistic views. Depending on the path you take
in the game, he does more or less hardcore stuff. For example, in the
Fate route, he manages to land six fatal blows on the most powerful
servant, Berserker (Hercules), despite being a completely unknown hero.
In other words, that means he was ridiculously powerful in his
associated legend to make up for no one remembering who he is. Despite
being the Archer servant, he also has two shortswords that he summons
that he can never lose, and is very proficient with them. In the anime
adaptation, Archer is shown using more abilities, which include an
archery attack. Here's the most gar character ever, Archer from Fate/Stay Night.

By the age of nineteen, she was a TSAB combat instructor and served as a
squad leader in Mobile Section Six, a special unit set up to deal with
cases involving Lost Logia. A significant portion of her allies are
former enemies that she managed to defeat and then win over, including
her lover extremely close friend Fate
Testarossa. She once told an enemy who called her a demon “It's okay if
I'm a demon. I'll just have to use my hellish tools to make you
listen.” (This was back when she was nine.) Her fans often use
“befriend” as a synonym for “beat the crap out of.” Despite her general
willingness to make friends, she is utterly ruthless in combat and is
perfectly willing to fight dirty if it will give her the upper hand.
Here`s Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha`s Nanoha Takamachi.

P.S. "White Devil" is actually a fan nickname (and a reference to the Gundam inspired colour scheme of her costumes).

Second video clip for Nanoha doesn't work since the user's account was terminated, try this link instead if you want to see what she does to evil bitches who force her to fight her mind controlled adopted daughter (yes, Vivio is Nanoha's adopted daughter, she just takes on an adult form when her powers are fully unleashed): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mV6ZtGhllMg&feature=watch_response

Also, the original pics for Nanoha were kind of what I could find on short notice without copies ot the episodes handy. This pic of adult Nanoha is probably a better choice:

As for the rest... well, Archer may be superhuman, but as far as I know he doesn't pack giant mecha grade firepower. So yeah... one vote for the White Devil here.

Archer. Dude can take down super-Hercules and hold off the King of Heroes when he's half-dead, and even then stay alive for a few more days, only dying off because the Holy Grail War ended. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Re: Deadliest (Fictional) Warrior/War Machine

Post by SPARTAN 119 on Sat 2 Jul 2011 - 17:02

Not sure if anyone cares, but this time, I'm gonna end this in a true Deadliest Warrior style: with an actual fight scene between the two. Sorry if I get Archer's personality a bit off, I've only seen the anime, and that was a while ago.

(Adult) Nanoha walks into a mansion in the middle of the woods, to be faced with Archer fighting with his past self.

Nanoha turns to Archer and says "Stop, don't...", only for Archer to break off his fight with Shirou and face the newcomer.

"Now that you have seen me, I'm afraid your going to have to die", Archer said, lunging at Nanoha. Nanoha only barely manages to roll out of the way and transforms.

Archer summons one his many swords, and transforming it into an exploding arrow, which he then fires at Nanoha, the impact knocking her backwards and shattering the wall behind her. Nanoha gets up and walks out of the cloud of dust and smoke, Raising Heart at the ready, behind a magical shield.

"DIVINE BUSTER!!!!!", Nanoha yells, blasting Archer with a beam of magical energy that devastates the entrance of the room, leaving Archer lying on the ground.

Archer gets up, sporting a number of cuts and bruises from Nanoha's attack, and summons another legendary sword, Kusanagi this time, and again turns it into the an exploding arrow. Nanoha moves at lightning speed, dodging the arrow, though a large hole is blown in the roof.

Nanoha retaliates with an Axel Shot, only for Archer to block it with Rho Alis, shield of Hector of Troy. Archer then recites his imfamous mantra:

"I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to victory
Nor known to defeat
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Though these hands will never hold anything
So, as I pray
Unlimited Blade Works!"

Nanoha was immediately transported into an endless field, with swords pointed out of the ground, the gears of a great metal foundry in the background. Archer raised the nearest blade to him and as he did so, thousands of swords flew at Nanoha.

Nanoha raised her magical shield, blocking the impact of the blades. But how long could she take this? She had to act now. Nanoha pointed Raising Heart at Archer and yelled "STARLIGHT BREAKER!!!!"

Multiple blasts of energy shot from Raising Heart. The energy blasts struck Archer in a massive explosion. At once Archer's reality marble dissolved and the mansion was blown apart. Amazingly Archer, Shirou, and Rin all survived the blast, though Archer was knocked unconcious

A few days later
Nanoha and Archer are pwning Kotomine and Gilgamesh.

Winner: Nanoha Takamichi (3-1)

Well, there you have it, like so many before him, Archer has been befriended.

Re: Deadliest (Fictional) Warrior/War Machine

Post by JameyoftheMegacosmos on Thu 18 Aug 2011 - 17:08

I know a decade-old fictional character (and villain) that may be a very tough opponent, but I actually don't know any other fictional characters that may be able to fight him. His name is Dr. Lantis (mostly known as Indalecio) from Star Ocean: The Second Story.

Dr. Lantis-

Species: Nedian

Age ~4 billion years

Sex: Male

Dr. Lantis was one of the best Nedian scientists. He discovered the ability to modify an organism's DNA, making its supernatural abilities god-like. Based on this discovery, he created the Ten Wise Men, ten unique and near-invincible biological weapons. He orginally created them to suppress rebel movements, but reprogrammed them to destroy the universe after going insane over the loss of his daughter. Dr. Lantis originally commited suicide, but transferred his conscience to the last and most powerful of the Wise Men codenamed "Indalecio".

Powers: Dr. Lantis, as seen in the bio, is an intelligent scientist gone fanatic. He usually get his attacks from a spell book he carries, but has seemingly unlimited abilities. He can cast his most powerful spells almost instantly and he so immune to damage only certain weapons can hurt him. He can even create a weapon capable of destroying the universe.

You probably now see why it'll hard to find fair fight for this guy. It'll probably be easier to find one for the other Wise Men.

I did make a post, although it's been a while since I've last rewatched Starship Operators. I really ought to have hauled out my DVDs and checked whether my memory is on the mark when it comes to that stuff about the Amaterasu using matter/anti-matter power -for some reason I have an impression that it's supposed to but I can't remember a specific mention of that in the series.

Here is one of my matches, if anyone wants to vote (You may need to set up an account): Covenant CPV Destroyer (Halo) vs Guard Ship Amaterasu (Starship Operators) Piero might be interested in this one.

Other matches on the site I'm doing if anyone's interested, please vote:

Alternate Nazis (Spike TV Alternate History Special) vs JS Mirai Crew (Zipang)

Because of low match turnout, I thought I'd try advertising here for this match:
Homura vs Nanoha

I'm a total tool for Homura, so I'ma have to side with her on this one... *grins* Nice write-up!

Again, I'm going to advertise something for my deadliest fictional Warrior thing on this page due to low turnout:

The (will of the) Book of Darkness (Nanoha) vs Ulyaoth (Eternal Darkness)

For those in the know at least about Eternal Darkness (and especially with both series), you might have some idea how I came up with this match. One of the central plot devices of Eternal is a book called the Tome of Eternal Darkness (I wonder if that might be evil!?). Now, unfortunately, I couldn't make this a fight between the Tome of Eternal Darkness and the Book of Darkness, because the Tome, unlike the Book of Darkness, does not have a powerful humanoid "will". So, I used on the Lovecraftian horrors associated with the Tome of Eternal Darkness, so without further ado:

Ulyaoth, the mysterious, giant, cnidarian-like monstrosity with powerful magic, that predates the human race, and intends to destroy them and take their place.

VS

The Will of the Book Darkness, the humanoid female will of a powerful 666-paged, dark magical artifact.

Roberta and Fabiola (Black Lagoon) vs Triela and Rico

Rosarita "Roberta" Cisneros, the ex-FARC terrorist known as the Bloodhound of Florencia and Fabiola Iglasias, the girl from the favela trained to be deadly with her dual MAG-7 shotguns

VS

Triela Hartmann and Rico Croche, two crippled girls turned into cybernetic killing machines.

WHO IS DEADLIEST?!
