Episode 5 Critique

Most Favorite Moment: The interaction between Hillshire and Triela. However brief, it really sets the mood for the series to come. Just as with the Pinocchio manga arc, it seems the faith is being kept in this being a focus on Hillshire and Triela's relationship.

Least Favorite Moment: The meeting and shootout at the start of the episode. It seemed to be too much like filler. I tried to folow it and see how it portained to the show or even the episode, but it appeared to simply not belong.

Overall Critique: Looks like I jumped the gun on Priscilla. If her being the emotional center was apparent in episode 4, it really stood out in episode 5. The interaction between her and Angelica nearly broke me in two. It was too much at times.

OMG thank you so much! Does anyone have the It Teatrion soundtrack? I just have one track in mind that I realllllly wanna listen to (though I'm gonna buy the cd as soon as I can) It's the song when Triela and Peno fight towards the end of the episode when he dies. I think that's my favortie track in this season (which is sad because I liked so many in the first...)

It's already posted. It's the Main Theme. Also, that gentle cello song as Triela returned Pino's pendant is Kanashimi.

I found myself liking Tosca a lot, too. Reminds me of Cowboy Bebop Ave Maria song.

Well, it's great Funimation got it licensed now than later or never. Hopefully the 2009 release date means it'll be a good quality dub. I wonder if the same VA's for the first series will also be used.

It'd better be the same team, or a better one. The last thing Il Teatrino needs is a lousy dub to round off the disappointing art style.

I think they'll have the same voice actors. Funimation sticks with their own VAs and they picked them because they were great for the first season. It would be a huge mistake to not cat the same people.

Caitlin Glass is going to be amaaazzzzzing in the fight between Triela and Pino!!!!! :yaay:

I wouldn't go as far as saying the artwork of Gunslinger Girl -II as lousy, but close to it. More along the line of simplistic because the first season had more complex detail to it's artwork like shadowing on the clothes and weapons while the second season didn't really pay too much detail to shadowing or more complex detail because it was more simple.

Werd. I don't think it would have such a supportative fanbase if the first season looked like the second. I would be like: Ok that was alright... moving along...

What I love about the first season is the fact that it's so original and realistic.

The this is, though, is that Season 1 took a long time to pick up steam and reach a large audience.

I remember mentioning GSG in the Gamefaqs boards about a month after the 1st DVD was released and only a few people responded...

Besides the beautiful animation in season 1, I also liked the way the characters acted - much like the way real people would. I feel that they act to hyper and cartoonish in season 2.

I was going to say too animated, but hell, they are animated…

Hmmm...

I am going to poke around for some, to see if any other Subbing groups are going to sub GSG 2nd Season.

I seriously hope that someone will pick up subbing that.

Though I am seriously short on time- with the up comming hastle of readying and moving into the new aparment- If no one is going to sub GSG, I will be happy to give it a shot my self.

Only one thing is needed, Translations them selfs.

but I'll start thinking about that when I know more about the other sub groups out there.

Damn morons are so slow that it got licensed faster...

When it all comes down to it, I'd rather wait for a nicely done official dub than put up with rude, lazy fansubbers.

"Triad" It sounds like a buck of nerds wanting to sound bad ass like Crime organizations:

Italian crime organizations = Mafia

In fairness the official reason isn't quite as stupid as that. Smile
The Triad wrote:WHO is The Triad?

The Triad was originally a joint project between Anime-Fansubs@EFnet, NewLifeAnime, and Ishin-Anime, with Azumanga Daioh as our first group digisub production. But since we got tired of referring to ourselves as [A-F & Ishin & NLA], we simplified the name down to just The Triad. In time, though, the joint became its own group, and the members broke off from the original three groups to form the single cohesive Triad you all know and love. The best of the best... well, at least we hope, after all this time... Wink
That said I heard in their forum somewhere that most of the original members have left now.

Triad has lost a lot of their flare. The name still commands some respect but not much anymore, seeing as they rarely if ever release anymore.

Buon Giorno.

It is unfortunate that Triad stopped doing the show (whether it was in part because of it being licensed or that they just didn't enjoy the material) and it is nice that someone else has picked it up.

Fortunately, thanks to the folks doing the scanlations (which is what clued me into this site), I found that the anime did a decent job of following the manga, so even with my poor command of spoken Japanese, I was able to follow the raws of episodes 8-13 pretty well.

I was a big fan of the original anime series, which is why I started following ~ Il Teatrino ~ once it was fansubbed. Not as big a fan of the animation style for this series and I do admit some of the characters kind of creep me out in how they act - especially Rico. I understand she's conditioned to respond the way she does, but between her large eyes and cheerful disposition as she goes around taking people out... sweat

Henrietta was also my favorite from the original series and she does not get nearly as much "air time" in ~ Il Teatrino ~. On the manga side, I really like Petrushka (it's the Russian blood in me, I'm sure), but I really liked Triela's arc in Volume 10.

I don't really like to wait for so long... It has been, what, 4 months and 21 days since the last release? All the torrents gone cold too. I say since some of the people here scanlates the manga, let's try doing the anime ourselves... though I'm really a novice at those aspects.

I once heard about a guy who took up scanlating a manga series all by himself, plus the "minor" help of others, when the scanlation group who was supposed to be the one doing it started bickering among themselves. That guy's long gone now but many really admired him. Well waiting for the NA release would be a legal option but, IMHO, the amount they sell them is really, um...., high, I think?

Funimation will be releasing - Il Teatrino - as a complete box set sometime in 2009, so those in DVD Region 1 will have the whole shebang.

It would be nicer if we knew when in 2009 it was going to be released. I can't find anything that gives specific information other than it is supposed to be released in 2009.

Marketting rules usually says Jan/Feb (doubtful), April/May (end of school), Aug/Sept (end of summer) or Nov/Dec (Xmas).

I would say April/May.

2009... If you tried to follow the common pattern I agree with the April/May. But it's still doubtful...

I would say April/May.

If it was coming out in January or February, then amazon.com would have it up for pre-ship sale now. Hopefully, it'll be out sooner rather than later.
