Awesome. I have every episode off TV, but more DVD versions is always welcome.

I've been watching Mike and the Bot's post-MST3K projects - The Film Crew and RiffTrax - to get a fresh fix.

If anything, the latest South Park episode was worse than the previous one.

The best South Park installments aren't the ones that comment on current issues or mock celebrities, but the ones that focus on life in South Park and the kids 'just being kids'. See 'Butters' Bottom Bitch', 'The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers', 'Good Times with Weapons' and 'Make Love, Not Warcraft'. Trey and Matt better get themselves squared away quick and bring the old magic back.

Also, Mid-season Finale of Dr. Who...

But first, this track and the comment off Youtube:

I love this theme because everytime you hear it in an episode, you know the Doctor's about to kick some ass or do something awesome.

"I'm about to do something incredible cool." - The Doctor.

"You think so?" - His current episode antagonist.

"You hear that theme music? I'm going to grin and well, there may or may not be sonicing involved, haven't decided yet. But watch out! Because like bowties and stetsons and fez's (oh my!) it will be cool."

Anyway, Mid-season finale: A Good Man Goes to War. (rest spoilered in case some have not seen it yet)

Spoiler:
You just know that any episode that starts with The Last Centurion fighting his way to the bridge of a Cyberman flagship... with a short sword, and The Doctor blowing up the fleet of said flagship.... just to make a point... is going to be a little bit epic.

Angry Doctor is Angry and everyone takes A-levels in Badass... which is quite a lot of badass when you think about it.

And, I'll admit, I shed a little tear at the end.

Ok, I'll be honest: I don't think the writing was Moffat's greatest work, the whole thing felt a bit disjointed, but in reality I think the whole episode was just setting up for the two minutes at the end... Kind of like the first Lord of the Rings movie: there's a lot that needs to happen so the next bit of story can start. As a hook to send me barmy waiting for the second part of the season in September though... 100% effective.

The new course unveiled for Summer Wipeout looks pretty good. I had my doubts about the 2nd round elimination course, until it took out half the field in the first pass. Yikes!

Also, Top Gear South Korea has been given a green light. We may yet see a real Top Gear Italy at this rate. ROTFL

I have to say, Alfisti, that I'm really keen on the 11th Doctor's Theme as well. What makes it interesting is that it keeps up a dramatic steady beat without feeling too ponderously grim and oppressive or self-consciously 'epic' - it still manages to evoke a light-hearted spirit of effervescent adventure dancing over the undertones. I think that it actually encapsulates the whole attitude of Doctor Who well - that ultimately it's a happy and enthusiastic show about incredible adventures in time and space, and darker shadows are really a springboard to bounce off of rather than an end in themselves.

As some may know, the original NBC pilot of Top Gear USA featured admitted gearhead Adam Corolla in the lead host position. While that project didn't pan out (and would feature a new cast when finally launched by The History Channel last year), SPEED TV has picked him to lead a new series called The Car Show, debuting at 10PM EDT on July 13th.

Carolla will be joined by Wall Street Journal car columnist Dan Neil, former Detroit Pistons star John Salley and Matt Farah of TheSmokingTire.com.

You'll have to expain, since I am way too lazy (okay, drunk) to download the new episodes myself.

Incidentally; pulled a 56 second lap on the Top Gear test track last night on the PS3 GT5 game.

Well it could have been worse. When News Corp bought them, the plan was to make it NASCAR TV and drop all other sports. bang head

And while it may be months-delay, I'm happy they've added series like BTCC, DTM and FIA GT. Though now that I am a WRC fan, I do wish they had kept that.

I was a bit of a fan of Thundercats back when I was a wee nipper - I had a plastic Lion-O sword which lit up with an AA battery inserted into the hilt, and I remember watching the Thundercats Movie on VHS and being freaked out by the mummification scene. I'm a little curious about this new version, then - as I can't get Cartoon Network, is there anywhere else to watch it?

If you get Food Network, Triela, you might want to watch tonight's episode of Food Network Challenge as they did "Dinosaur Cakes".

I've never been a big Doctor Who fan, but I've been snapping up the 11th Doctor on Blu-ray. The second half of Season Six kicked off last night and it's, of course, frackin brilliant.

Steven Moffat is the best thing to happen to Doctor Who, IMO. He made this show not just cool but awesome.

New season of Cops has my department on it... I would have been enjoying this, except apparently one of the officers chosen to be followed is a freakin' moron, and of questionable value to this badge. *headshake*

Anyways, Sept 10th is supposed to be our first episode.

SBS has started broadcasting Al Jazeera's English langage service... it's actually very good news and certainly a refreshing change from hearing solely western news-media.

Ask just about anyone who was 10-20 in 1980 about what got them interested in space and astronomy and they will respond with Carl Sagan's Cosmos on PBS.

The BBC and Discovery Networks have captured what made Cosmos great and presented it to a new generation with Brian Cox's Wonders of the Universe, which recently completed it's US, Australian and New Zealand run (it finished on The Beeb back in March) and my Blu-ray order just arrived. It's a follow-on to his 2010 series Wonders of the Solar System and his third installment, Wonders of Life, will premiere in 2012.

It's not as in-depth on the science as The Universe on The History Channel or Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman (which was a perfect follow-on show to Wonders on The Science Channel), but Cox's quiet delivery and the absolutely monumental quality of the CGI (you must see this show in High Definition / Blu-ray. To not do so would be like going through the Louve looking at everything through heavily frosted glass) is just...visual poetry.

Anybody else reminded of Ghost in the Shell, and the Section-9 ass kicking theme?

I'm watching Most Shocking for 2 hours and separate episode. In Phoenix, Arizona. The 2 robber who robbed the Jewelry Store with the pepper spray. Then later the owner of Jewelry Store use the gun and shoot the robber. But the robber is trap in store. After police arrive, the owner kick the robber. That was awesome.

I tell you, more shows need to take a few years off if the result is as brilliant as Futurama has been since coming back from hiatus.

What an epic episode last night.

Not quite as epic as WipeOut Colosseum, but for sheer carnage, WipeOut Disco was pretty awesome last night. Jill Wagner was pretty evil with her aim. Smile

Now if only we had the UK announce team.

I'd take that back after last night's episode - "The God Complex" - but now I know why I so enjoy Matt Smith's portrayal of The Doctor.

Spoiler:

He's made him...human.

Caught the premiere of American Horror Story. Definitely coming back for more. Fairly dark and creepy, not cheesy, good camera work, hot filthy redhead maid. And a fucking GHOST gimp.

I can't believe some of the shit they can get away with on TV these days.
