Is Yu Amoung Us?

Post by ElfenMagix on Tue 19 Apr 2011 - 17:11

Apparently Scott Adams, creator of the Dilbert Comic was busted on comic forum starting flames and bashing other members when they say bad things about his comic.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thecutline/20110419/ts_yblog_thecutline/the-demotion-of-dilbert-continues-no-comic-relief-for-creator

Question is, is Yu amoung us?

I don't doubt the possibility he knows we exist. After all, I e-mailed him some years back (no response, of course).

But actually being among us? Like, on this very forum?

Nah.

Unless I deleted his account for being a non-posting user. Laughing

I am reasonably confident Yu does exist, and that he is not as secretive as we assume. Run his Jewelbox page through an online translator and you'll see references to anime/manga conventions that he is attending and presumably selling/signing copies at.

It is my life goal to track down Yu Aida and bring him to... justice?

If he did, that would be a whole lot of pressure.

Then again, he likely doesn't know enough English to sign up so there's that.

You forgot Kurt Vonnegut?!!
Spoiler:
I personally knew Kurt Vonnegut and Robert A. Heinlein.

Robert A. Heinlein was an asshole. He went my school because his wife and sister taught there and he dared proclaim that he was the greatest writer of all time- buy his books! One time I handed him one of his books, and he thought I wanted an autograph. I demanded my money back.

Kurt Vonnegut on the other hand was the epitome of cool! He used to come to the Big Apple User Group with his floppies, "I Got A Story Here And Need Help In Getting Them Off These Disks!!!" I miss the poor guy.

Yeah, Heinlein was kind of an asshole later in life. Good writer for the most part, though.

Can't believe you struck out F. Scott Fitzgerald, though, are you mad?

Also, while Tolkien isn't the best writer ever, not nearly so, his influence is nearly unmatched.

Mad as a hatter. And that what he gets for taking over 22 years for writing the Great Gatsby.

It took him three or so years, actually. Twenty-two wouldn't make sense at all. I doubt he was planning Great Gatsby when he was seven years old!

All that prattling and no Philip K. Dick, Arthur C. Clark, or Arthur Miller?

Meh, I prefer epic poetry anyway.

Must be horribly embarrassing for Scott Adams. Or should be and is not, seeing as how he responded when he was discovered. Probably says a lot about him. Surprised no one here is commenting on that.

If Yu is lurking here somewhere, I'll certainly the last person to kiss up to him Laughing
