Re: Condition is a Hypnotism
*is envious*
... I wanna be able to read and understand volumes 7 and 8...
*cries like a leetel grrl*
**edit**
...but yeah, I see where the bald dude tells 'Sandro that it's like hypnosis. Page 158, right after Petra throws up when 'Sandro tells her to call him a piece of shit.
Not sure what you're asking, though...

I wanna read those volumes too. I've only read up to 5.
::I also cry like the little girl:: But I always thought the conditiong was kinda like some sort of sedative o something... Something they most likely inject that they really probably shouldn't really.

Re: Condition is a Hypnotism
I think that what the bald dude (whose name I know not) meant that it functions much like hypnosis, in that a person becomes unstable if certain psychological triggers are tripped. example: Petra being progammed not to insult her handler, but also being programmed to obey him at all costs... and then he orders her to insult him.

Ohh so that's why she freaked. I never understood that scene before.Petra being progammed not to insult her handler, but also being
programmed to obey him at all costs... and then he orders her to insult

Re: Condition is a Hypnotism
Conditioned reactions are taught responses. Hypnosis is the implanting of suggestions into the sub-sonscious by relaxing/pulling a person into an altered state of consciousness. Drugs can help with both of these things. I imageine the conditioning would be the full battery of chmical, subliminal, hypnotic, and brainwashing techniques. But one thing I'm not sure about: The translations I've read refer to "rewriting" or "rescripting", suggesting almost a computer-program like quality... I wonder what that's all about. Are the girls brains partially altered/enchanced with mechanical components and can they be re-programmed on a more litteral level then just teaching? ... Personally I don't really like the idea, and there are some things which appear to be hardwired, like the allegiance to one handler and not to any other (Claes), but that doesn't really discount the program idea.
p.s. Emperor, you can read Japanese!? Did you learn it from scratch or are you from a Japanese background (or are you using translations in some other languadge that come out before the English)? I tried to learn at one point, but failed miserably.

He's from Thailand. The Thai version of the manga seems to be keeping up with the original Japanese...

I'm Thai if you know the place for vacation called Phuket.
And not Taiwan!! Some foreigner misunderstood my nation with that China's control nation.
In Thailand GSG published to vol.8 and I'm waiting for vol.9 in the winter season.

Re: Condition is a Hypnotism
Thailand has GSG!? That's it, I'm ringing up my pop the next time he goes through Bangkok... wait... I'LL be IN Bangkok for a day when I'm going to London! Any good places to go in Bangkok to get the stuff? The only place I know is MBK.
Re: Condition is a Hypnotism
Doesn't matter if Sasahara can't read it - he can always scan the volumes and send them to someone who can actually translate.

To buy GSG? Must buy in a comics shop in the convenient store like The Mall , Siam Square , Central
But it always has in the comic shop on the street too.

Hell no! But my dad is Thai-Chinese. And I think he likes this series too, but hasn't been able to read anything since Vol. 3. He's taken a liking to Claymore and has been bugging me about it. You'll be surpised at how much he likes this stuff. I also don't have the heart to tell him I stopped liking Naruto about a decade ago since he's always so excited when he shows up Naruto stuff...
Re: Condition is a Hypnotism
I've got Thai blood in me, too - thanks to my great-grandmother. Wish I knew how to speak/read/write the stuff, though.

Some people have all the luck
I'm as much Thai as I am Muslim, and being an Nth Generation from the orginal Spanish Royal Family, you know what my ancestors did to Muslims...
Nachtsider, Sasahara17- Enjoy your hertiage and learn the language of your fathers. It will be an asset later on in life.

Re: Condition is a Hypnotism
My family appears to have completely abandoned what miniscule Thai heritage we possess. I was brought up non-conformist, but fully versed in the Chinese language. Know some German, too.
Father hardly spoke our native tongue. I haven't seen him in years.

Re: Condition is a Hypnotism
Well, I know enough English and Spanish as to not look like an idiot in public, and even fail at that at times! I know enough French, German, Italian and Japanese to walk into a resturant and order something that I recognise as food!

Re: Condition is a Hypnotism
Kind of reminds me of an episodes of Full Metal Panic. One Character asks a Marine where she learned Japanese. In true Marine fashion she replies, "Through men. Through M-E-N." The character replies, "Men?" The marine explains, "Well, if you learn i in bed, you'll improve faster!" The other girls are of course horrified.
Oh that series was awesome!

Re: Condition is a Hypnotism
That's right. The serious part of the story was sort of neglected as far as plot is concerned but the comedy was priceless. Have you seem, the Fumoffu spin-of? It's just the pure crazy, nonsensical comedy, but its great when you just want to break with reality for a while.Wileama wrote:Oh that series was awesome!

Re: Condition is a Hypnotism
That's where the line is from. Its the episode while at the hot springs, you know the one. Kyoko puts the question to Mao, while Kurtz tries to drill through the wall. I don't think of Fumoffu as a spin off. The episodes for both the first series, and Fumoffu came from the manga. The anime simple seemed to either focus on the comedy, or serious plot. While the manga was more intermingled.
Re: Condition is a Hypnotism
May be, I tend to mix things up. Since Wileama said "Full Matal Panic" I thought he was reffering to the original since I'm used to seeing Fumoffu reffered to as either "FMP Fumoffu" or "FMP?". Both series had some awesome commedy.

I only can speak one language (my godly sibling can speak at least two I think). I was just reminded of my last visit to France where my Uncle had to do all the talking for us. That was embarassing. My father has contemplated dropping me headfirst in Shanghai with a big wallet and no food. I'll learn mandrin pretty quick.h
With regards to the Naruto thing? It's not so bad, I was just joking. I think my father buys the DVD's for himself on the pretense that it is for me. He's and avid Shonen-style fan, so Bleach and Naruto are his cup of tea (often goes on about thus Hungo Mun-whatever. I have no clue anymore).
