Character battle: Testarossa vs Testarossa

Post by SPARTAN 119 on Fri 8 Jul 2011 - 14:27

In the spirit of Dante vs Dante comes Testarossa vs Testarossa (profiles from the Anime Babes Tournament, with slight modification for Fate):

Piero wrote:*Approved carry over from previous nomination thread.*

A former dark magical girl who fought for possession of a set of powerful magical artifacts on behalf of her “mother.” She was created by a powerful mage who was trying to clone her dead daughter, but was rejected by her creator because she was not seen as being a perfect copy of her original. She was eventually “befriended” by magical girl Nanoha Takamachi and adopted by Lindy Harlaown, an officer in the Time Space Administration Bureau (TSAB). Now an adult, she has served the TSAB as an Enforcer and as a squad leader in the special operations unit known as Mobile Section Six. She seems to have a soft spot for children she encounters during her work, particularly those who were created artificially like she was. Here’s Fate Testarossa Harlaown from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Strikers.

She has a crush on Mithril Arm Slave pilot Sousuke Sagara, but she can`t seem to get him to take notice no matter what she does. Here`s Full Metal Panic`s Teletha "Tessa" Testarossa.

My vote goes with Fate.

Teletha has access to mecha, a super submarine and probably nukes, so she gets my vote

Just to clarify, this is is not a fight thread, just an overall favorite of the two.

Also, something I noticed about "Teletha": There is no "L" or "TH" sound in Japanese, so "L" = "R" and "TH" = "S" when a Japanese person tries to say a foreign word. This sometimes extends to writing, replacing "R"s and "S"s with "L"s and "TH"s when they really shouldn't. Case and point the infamous "Engrish".

Thus, it is likely now that I think about it, Tessa's proper full name should be Teresa Testarossa.

I was going to say... despite all the high-tech and deadly hardware Tessa has access too, Fate IS a walking nuclear deterrent.

Like Kisk, I'm more familiar with Tessa, so she gets my vote.

Regrettably unfamiliar with both, although Fate has the edge on the cheesecake, Tessa seems like the type I would PROBABLY end up picking...

Dam this is a tough choice as I like both shows and characters. However this time I'm going to have to go with Tessa from FMP she has the whole sexy captain thing going plus access to mecha. That and she can't beat the poo poo out of me, well not directly anyway.

Hey Spartan, are you sure you don't want some other pictures of the characters? The pictures you currently have were chosen for the anime babes tournament so the aspects of the characters they show are a bit skewed, especially in Fate's case (she's an adult in season three, but was a child in both of the previous seasons).

BTW, anyone find it funny that neither one has red hair?

Fate here. I like FMP more than Nanoha, but Tessa isn't my favorite character in FMP while Fate is my favorite character in Nanoha. Her storyline was what gave the first season some much needed emotional punch and she had some excellent long term character growth. In season two for instance she still had some pretty deep psychological scars from the abuse she suffered but she was also starting to open up a bit, while in season three she had progressed into a confident young woman who seems to have picked up some personality traits from the person who adopted her in season two.

I usually stay out of voting tournaments nowadays, but after glancing at these anime girls in bikinis I've decided to chip in.

I do enjoy FMP quite a bit, but I'm afraid I'm going to defer to "Brainless Summer Mode."

I vote for Fate cause her picture is hotter.

It has been about a week, and the responses have died down, so I declare Tessa the winner 5 votes to 3. I was thinking about doing a (Light) Yagami vs (Hayate) Yagami match, but I'm not sure what I would go by, the two have so little in common, and as per a fight, it would depend on the range.

Spoiler:
If Light is beyond visual range of Hayate AND know's Hayate's name and has seen her face, Light could kill her instantly by writing her name in the Death Note(although one does wonder if the hair color change when she transforms would cancel the effect of the Death Note if Light only saw Hayate in transformed form). On the other hand, If Hayate is in attack range of Light, she could blast him to oblivion before Light could write her name.
