Internet merchandising strikes again.

I presume you didn't realize they were charging you, in which case I wonder how they got hold of your bank/credit account info. Was this thing piggybacked onto something else you bought?

I'm thinking it was piggy backed onto something else I bought, because it was a healthcare thing and I would have run it by my family most of us who are in healthcare and or no better.  It just really cheeses me off.  Here's hoping I can get some of it back.

Oh, you can't leave it there. I always thought waifuism was a relatively harmless obsession. Granted, I only know about it whatever I hear. Why the concern?

It is harmless when folks leave their obsession in the land of fiction.

When folks bring their fictional obsessions into reality and people are okay with it though...

Yeah that was a little scary, but in other news I am still freezing my but off in Mongolia, however it is getting warmer. I am back to work after a week off of playing video games on the couch and it wasn't long enough. Ugh work. Oh and I had the pleasure of trying a Mongolian sweet bread made with cows feet.

Those on dA will already know this, but some of the apartments in my complex are currently being renovated (leaking bathrooms... not my building), which means there are tradies using the car park. As a result, the BMW has somehow grown a pair of large scrapes across it's rear end.

Strangely enough, no-one has owned up, and there's bugger all I or the body corporate can prove so... sigh. Anyway, this seemed more entertaining than just whinging about it (and at least I'm doing better than the poor bloke with the RX-7, which has a fist-sized dent in its rear guard):

...oh, and the Alfetta's refusing to start.

To be honest, this actually all happened a bit back, but I've been trying to do these sketches at least a week in advance, and was waiting for the second one to reach posting time. sweat

Sounds to me like the Mongolian's may be a bit like the Thai and Hong Kong Chinese. Whereas most Asian cultures are reserved and polite (sometimes to a fault...like the Japanese and Eastern Chinese); in my experience Thai, Hong Kong Chinese, and most Northern Chinese (like my Mom's extended family) tend to be forward as FUQ.

Are you single? No problem they know somebody who knows about plenty of single girls around your age...ish. And if they won't do their friends will know a friend and they WILL introduce you to these single women again...and again...and again...and often without any kind of notice or warning.

Are you hungry? Doesn't matter because dammit you're single and so by default you MUST not be eating right. So I'm texting you to let you know that I left a pot of leftovers at your doorstep on my way to work so make sure to clean the pot and bring them back over sometime next week. "K! BAI-BAI!!"

And that right there is just off the top of my head.

In other news, that's now the second person I've had to let into their own apartment. Apparently people in my complex now call Alfisti, rather than a locksmith, when they lock themselves out.

What happens when an American and a Brit go to a bar in Mongolia

1- Eat dinner
2- Have drinks with a Bangladeshi guy, a Russian woman and Mongolian woman
3- Get hit on by the now drunk Mongolian woman
4- Discover that the hot chick the Brit found is a prostitute and her friend
5- Get asked if you want in with the friend
6- Get into a fight with the taxi driver the Brit found
7- Watch Brit get scolded by the prostitute for using said taxi
8- Lend the Brit money for said prostitute
9- block the view of the teacher in the hallway for your friend so he can sneak upstairs
10- all of the above

After some two million kilometers in the air, I had my first IFSD (InFlight engine ShutDown) yesterday.

On a delivery flight (All Nippon 787-9). Doh!

Nothing dramatic. We turned back to Everett and landed without incident. Can't speak to the incident specifics, but suffice to say it was nothing major and we're going to try again, today. clapping

Darn. Missed your chance for a water landing.

Still, another story to add to your mealtime repertoire when you get to DC in August.

Mario Bossi would make a better handler than Marco Toni. Come to think of it, so would Christiano.
.
Elizaveta didn't jump - she was pushed.
.
Sofia was pregnant. It would have been a boy.

Well, whoops XD

I'm curious as to the cause, but I doubt I will ever find out. I'm assuming one engine? Or mutiple? or the infamous "I can tell you, but will have to kill you later"?

In any case, must have been fun. At least it wasn't a deadstick landing right?

I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

Can't reveal the exact cause until it's formally reported. But I'm typing this from Tokyo so I can say it wasn't serious and we made the delivery flight without incident last night.

The 787 has two engines. We were about an hour and 400nm out from Everett at 40,000 feet when the incident happened. The crew went through the IFSD checklist, we descended to 25,000 (better performance on one engine at lower altitudes) and contacted Vancouver ATC for a return vector to Everett. We were on the ground within an hour.

Pretty minor then. Odd to have an IFSD on a brand new Boeing. Let me know when the formal report happens, I'm curious as to the cause.
