Amadeo and Giorgio

Post by taerKitty on Thu 9 Feb 2012 - 9:57

Amadeo was in the Navy, Giorgio was in the Army. After the 'Angie incident' they were punitively stationed for three months at the Hereford, UK off the Amalfi Coast. Giorgio has his darker hair in a crew cut and is more businesslike than Amadeo, who wears his blond hair much longer than is allowed by regulation.

They're grunts - good with knives and guns, but not handlers (at least, not in canon.)

What would happen if Triela,Rico, and Henrietta were put into the Hunger Games?

21 people would have died before the First Day was done.

In the Angie flashback, they were outside her hospital room jibing at each other. Things got out of hand, and they drew knives on each other. They closed, and Angie dashed between them just as they lunged, disarming one (Giorgio, if memory serves) and letting the other knife embed in her forearm (Amadeo's, then.)

After that, Jean said he wanted to fire them, but he wasn't going to let them off so easily, so he banished them for three months to Hereford to 'exercise among the farmers,' or so my memory claims.

At the time of the story, Hereford was home to the British Special Air Service so I imagine they spent a lot of time marching up and down Pen y Fan. Smile

still is,they moved from the old camp on the south side of the city (the rough end of town, lots of public housing and unemployment) to the old RAF base at Credenhill, a move of about 8 miles and a much nicer area !

Now, this brings up an interesting question - is 'retiring' from the SWA as difficult as 'retiring' from the Mob? Could Jean have simply let them go as-is? Or was this him saying, "Normally, I'd shoot you, but I'm going to give you a break."

The Agency's probably treated as any other secret service, perhaps a little more strictly given the especially sensitive nature of the work done there. You can resign, but expect to be stuffed full of NDAs right up the whazoo and to be given a check-up from time to time to make sure you're not letting any remembrances from your time there slip.

That makes sense. And if you don't pass their checkups, you get machine gunned to death and have it blamed on a drive by by the mob or something.

Why do all that, when the merest sight of a prepubescent girl would be enough to have the would-be turncoat soil themselves.

In fact... Hmm...

I like Amadeo and Georgio. They're genuinely nice guys, beneath those rough exteriors.

Said it before, will say it again: I would watch the hell out of a GSG spinoff that focuses on the support staff.

So very this. I think that was the vibe I was going for when I came up with the nascent "Men-at-Arms" concept, until I went all "Gary-Stu" with it. I may end up rolling with it anyways - write something set before MAA, or even completely seperate from it...
