OC Loadout Considerations

For purposes closely related to I don't know why, I've decided I want to experiment with having my next OC patter about with a .357 magnum revolver. Also a boning knife.

Erm, regardless, and not-terribly-useful-ness aside, anybody have any recommendations on weaponry?

Additionally, and slightly unrelated, when purchasing firearms, should one go for stainless or unstainless steel?

I presume we're talking finishes here?

Speaking as a non-gun person, I was always under the impression that the choice to go with a stainless or some other finish (blued, Tenifer, et al) was really down to personal preference. My own thought would be that a some form of satin-black would be best suited to concealment: though that doesn't seem to slow down the canon characters regards stainless.

You know I was a bit surprised that GSG didn't feature the FMG9 given the environment the SWA operates in.



Granted the flashlight on top is dead giveaway when folded away, but no one would jump to any conclusions if a girl carrying a book bag were walking down the street.

the GsG canon timeline is probably between 2000~2005, and FMG9 introduced as Prototype by magpul in 2008

It's an old idea, the FMG9 is a update of the old Ares FMG





gun was used in the second Robocop movie by the bad guy kid

Well El Conservatore, there are many considerations.

If you take Stainless Steel, it can save on some maintenance work, but don't cheat on not doing it. Stainless Steel is softer than normal steel, so it won't survive if you're a klutz that constantly drop their weapon. Its also too flashy to some. Outside of that, there is no difference - its a gun, and its in your hand.

The .357 Mag is a weapon to respect. Though almost the same size as a .38/.38 Super and a 9mm, its as as know is more powerful. Only problem, as it being a revolver, it is not silenceable and to some slow on reload. Try telling that to Jerry Miculek ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLk1v5bSFPw ).

Guns are a matter of tastes than argument. So what you want, you need to research and if you can try out or listen to those who tried it out. I'm more of a 1911 fanatic, but will use other weapons (like that North American Arms .38NAA - a tiny gun with a big punch! http://northamericanarms.com/firearms/380guard.html ) {Wait, they no longer make the .38NAA? GRRRR!!!} With the 1911, you can get it in other formats, like the SiG's 1911 in 9mm format. There are others like the .38Super and .38ACP. There are even conversion for a 1911 in .22 format!

But do not make a choice from the word of one person.
