Fashion Advice

Post by Il Direttore on Wed 26 Feb 2014 - 23:01

The purpose of this thread is for the unsavvy members of this forum to ask savvy members of this forum about clothing, jewelry, accessorizing, etc. Kiskaloo tells me that Alfi's thread should be kept centered around Alfi's OCs, which makes sense.

Imma start this with a question:

Who would be a good company/designer to look at for modern/futuristic jewelry choices, specifically in the field of brooches/broaches and/or hairpins? I'm looking for something fairly generic that can be applied to a number of ensembles without clashing but is still suitable for both casual and formal(ish) wear.

More information available upon request, as I'm not precisely sure what's needed to give proper advice on this matter.

Just got in from work, so don't really have time to go looking, however Georg Jensen springs to mind, as does Canturi... Monty wears some of the latter's "Cubism" line.

I've taken a look, thanks for the recommendations. I found this to be really interesting and useful, in particular the use of smooth, swooping lines in conjunction with clean, straight cuts. The idea of regularity in conjunction with irregularity was very striking, which I've ended up using. Thanks for the help!

Sounds like Canturi's doing well out of the SWA.

This is for Caterina I take it?

Actually it's for the PMMM fic/setting I've been working on. -_-'

Although jeez, I'm really missing writing Caterina. My need to rewrite DWL is pressing and maddening, and I need to go back and rework the first to chapters of my PMMM fic as well.

In Any Case, did some vector work based off of the Canturi design. Hope it's not too terribly done.

Know that feeling, it's the same one I get when not actively writing J+M.
