I'm fine with collaborating with you. A three-way collaboration may be even better if TSM can do so as well.

Hey... so it took a while, but we're now officially done with Phase 2. Now would be a good time for us to discuss referees and get ready to jump into Phase 3. I apologize that my attention is a little split at the moment, but I'll of course try to jump in every now and again to help where I can. Special thanks to Boomer and TSM (in collaboration with TopGear) for stepping up to the plate and delivering the last pieces of strategy needed to wrap this section up. Now comes the fun part where the girls pass, miss, run, and generally make a mess of things as they try to play football. Will the competent elements be enough to carry their teams? Or will things quickly devolve into seeing who can punt the ball through the most defenders? I look forward not only to the plays, but their effects on the military cyborgs who know all about war, but very little about sportsmanship.

Let's do this thing!

Boomer's inserted his little fun piece. Time for the organized mayhem.

Now that the game is starting ... maybe we should designate the referees? They'll have to be able to keep up with the players. I'm imagining Priss in a striped shirt, riding her Vespa and blowing a whistle...

Not just ref but linesmen as well, the poor people who have to look out for offsides and when the ball goes out of play (before they give up on that when the game ultimately devolves into a messy free-for-all). Vespas for all humans, maybe? Razz

Priss is already a coach. Looks like she'll have to lend the vespa to someone else.

Because we would want to avoid obvious bias, handlers are exempt from the position. Out of the medical and field support members we should be able to find two fitting refs. If we're looking to play things straight, I vote for Giordio/Olga and Dr. Belisario as unbiased third parties. If we want to shake things up with possibly sympathetic refs, then I vote Amadeo and Bianchi or (while we're at it) Laguna. Because why not? As one of the key organizers for the event, he could easily insert himself into the position.

The more I think about it, the more I get ideas for how Laguna as a ref could add to Quis' perspective. Good call on that, Boomz, even if it was accidental.

...Was that too lighthearted?

Has anyone begun a post about the start of play? I've been hoping one of our members with actual soccer experience would throw one up, but if nothing is brewing I'll kick off.

Oops, wrong football.

Mario Bossi would make a better handler than Marco Toni. Come to think of it, so would Christiano.
.
Elizaveta didn't jump - she was pushed.
.
Sofia was pregnant. It would have been a boy.
