be sure to break in those boots as soon as possible if they are of leather. If you don't then I can grantee you that you will have blisters the size of pancake's by dinner time.

to stop getting blisters, the leather needs to shape to your feet. Leather doesn't take the shape of your feet easily, so at first the leather will hug some spots of your feet too tightly, which is the cause of blisters to form.

There is a way for getting the leather to shape too your feet a little bit faster, that is if you don't mind getting your feet wet.
when your not planning to go anywhere, just go to the sink and fill them with then dump it out and put the shoe on. it also helps to also drench your sock, wring it out lightly and put the wet sock on. it might be a bit of a hassle getting the sock back on after its soaked, but believe me its better then trying to enter the shoe while your socks are dry. After your in your soaked shoe, just wear it for two to three hours or at least until your feet have dried up on they're own. This will help the leather set to your feet, which should go a long way towards not getting any blisters.

Note: get the inside of the shoe wet as you don't need the outside to be wet at all, and don't have the inside wet to the point where you will be leaving water trails all over the house. just let it drip out for a second or two.

If you repeat this twice then there is a high grantee that you wont get any blisters.

OMG!!!! I had SO much fun today!!!!!

I was asked to have my picture taken, hugged, and called to in passing more times than I could count! And it's just the first day!!!! =D ^__^

Pics from today! You guys will like a few of them... :3

Spoiler:

Didn't glomp this Nick. He looked grumpy. ;_;

These guys were awesome! They had everything! They even had the broken blade and the key! I saw the Triela cosplayer while I was getting my picture taken and I ran after her. I asked if she was Triela and she said yes, then I saw Pino walk up. It was awesome! I hugged the Triela because we were both so happy that their were GSG fans in the world! Her fave character is Triela! W00T!! ^__^

My cousin is on the left. He was Black from the new Pokemon game. I made the hat and helped my mom with the jacket. ^_^

NUUUUKE!!! You should have said hi! That was me! ;___; I didn't know you were going this year!

Just got back from the con a little while ago. I'll post more pics and stuff I got soon. Right now I just wanna say, one of the high lights of the whole con was meeting... LITTLE KURIBOH! He's really nice and signed my Dark Magician card and wrote the name "Magical Trevor" on top of DM's name. ^o^ I got a picture with him too! :3

Also watching Greg Ayres (voice of Emelio in english dub of GSG) getting dunked in a tank for charity was amazing funny! ^o^ He said that every time someone missed that the con would become for yaoi-fied, and every time they missed he shouted out a yaoi anime title. XDDD

Re: Cosplay

Post by Five_X on Sun 15 Aug 2010 - 23:28

Ah, Anime Evolution. Set in sunny Vancouver, British Columbia, it brings together thousands of anime fans from all over the Lower Mainland for a weekend of fun, crazy enjoyment. I visited the convention this year, though I could only attend for one day. With a determined mindset, I spent the day taking pictures of all kinds of cosplay. I was dressed up myself, as Takeshi Kuranari from the visual novel Ever17. To stay in character, I only ate chicken sandwiches (made at Subway, with 6" Italian bread, teriyaki chicken, lettuce, onions and mayonnaise.) and did the famous pose. I also spouted random Ever17 quotes. Unfortunately, no one noticed me. Piero and Outfox were likely there as well, though it seems neither of them noticed me as well, and I did not see them either. But anyways, on to the cosplay!

This was the first picture of the day, of a very nice Gendou cosplayer.

Here's one I took of Altair. There was an Ezio running around, but I didn't get a picture of him.

A pretty good Alucard.

When I saw this guy walking past me, I knew I had to take a picture of him. He's Ash Williams from the Evil Dead series.

This was one of my favourite cosplayers. They're Bonta-kun from Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, and stayed in character by not talking. Very well done.

This one actually has a fun story behind it. Before the convention, I mentioned to my friend how a great terrible cosplay would be a Gundam made of cardboard. While this isn't what I imagined, I still totally called it.

I don't actually know who is being cosplayed here. It's still a very nice outfit. Could anyone tell me who this person is supposed to be?

Cool looking, but unfortunately another one where I don't know who the character is.

See above. These two were walking around and looked really great. A lot of really nice cosplay this year.

The final one that I don't know the character behind. Very fancy.

This one turned out a little fuzzy, but it's of Captain Hammer and Dr. Horrible from the very awesome movie Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

I'm pretty sure this is the Tenth Doctor. I also saw another Doctor going around, and they even had a walking telephone booth!

It's Hatsune Miku!

Here's the Heavy of Team Fortress 2. Not a portrait picture like the rest, though. It was taken during the cool Cosplay Chess event, of which I have tons of photos that I won't post 'cause there's too many.

This was one of my favourite cosplays that I saw. A nice treat for the HSotD fans on this forum.

Another really awesome cosplay, this one of John Marston from Red Dead Redemption.

This was probably the best picture I took. As always, L made an appearance at the convention.

In more L-related stuff, here's an L-blovk from Tetris. Blovk, 'cause it's Russian. You know the Russians totally speak like that.

Obligatory Link picture!

Here's Peach fighting a different Link. There was a Deadpool cosplayer right nearby, but I couldn't get a shot of him.

Another of my favourites, Lucy/Nyu from Elfen Lied.

Some Magical Girls. I think they're from a specific series, though I don't know it.

Not a portrait, but I found it hilarious to see a Moogle wielding a Buster Sword.

I never thought a genderbent Predator could look so cool.

Snake, from Metal Gear Solid. I swear I also have a picture of the same guy beside a Raikov cosplayer, though I don't know what happened to it.

I forget who this is supposed to be. Good cosplay, though. I recall him being compared with an action figure of the same character that was being sold or something.

All in all, it was a good time. There were a few good cosplays that I missed, though I'm happy with what I got. I'll probably cosplay as Takeshi again next year, and hopefully get recognized. Luckily, one of my friends is planning to go with me as The Kid, so it should work better despite both of us looking very much like normal people.

That guy in the suit with the gun looks more like Jigen to me, down to the bent cigarette. I supposed Jigen is so iconical after so many years that other things compare to him.

Glocks are not the shit. Glocks can fail the same as any other gun. I've seen it personally, and have even heard first-hand accounts of something as basic as a slide-retaining pin snapping, the slide flying off. Get over the obsession and buy what fits your hand, your wallet, and ability.

Don't remember spotting a Takeshi cosplay, although I was there all three days. I've suggested both You and Sara to my girlfriend as possible ideas for next year but I don't think she'll end up doing them. Will post photos when I get home later and have time to sort the good photos from the 400+ Piero and I took. I'll probably include the one of me being punched by Inami from Working and the one with me and the twin maids.

Just going to post a few of these tonight since I want to catch up on Asobi and Strike Witches:

First up, my girlfriend as Kanbaru and a friend of hers as Nadeko, both from Bakemonogatari:

I got punched by Inami from Working!!

The twin girls who I usually send photos of their cosplays were back this year, this time in maid outfits. The fact I blinked in the last picture just makes it funnier:

And finally, an awesome cosplay of Horo from Spice and Wolf:

nice.

I'm actually a hardcore otaku who likes maids more than having three meals in a day and I only read books related to maids. Also, I only visit maid cafes. Of course I also collect maid figurines, I play games which feature maids and it turns me on so much that I'll wear the maid uniforms and jump in joy.

Seconded.

Also, speaking as someone who can pretty much sing "Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog" from memory, awesome to see that cosplay.

Saeko Busujima of Highschool of the Dead cosplayed by Kanda Midori

Rest of set here, in a spoiler tag as some of it may be NSFW and some of the other "mature" content on the site is definitely NSFW.
Spoiler:

Now, if only there were more women with her taste in anime (or even knew what anime was for that matter).

So. Holy carps. I'm actually going to have some things to post here sooner or later, derp.

I recently got dragged into doing a cosplay of Mammon from Umineko(I'm also currently working on Evabeato, witch!Maria and Bernkastel), I actually just finished up KOSMOS(which was supposed to be done in time for CTcon, ugh) anddd I'm doing Horo for AAC(along with Yuko from xxxHolic and Austrian Succession!Austria).

Also, my friend and I ran around town as Rico and Henrietta.
...but the pictures are just so embarrassing that you don't get to see them.

...I'll definitely have some interesting pics to post soon. OTL

Late entry, but I went to Halloween party held by my anime club as Keiichi Maebara of Higurashi. Unfortunately no pictures. I'd say it was probably one of the easier cosplays for me to pull off as I have the right color hair and all of the components can be bought at a department store. I didn't bring the baseball bat, but instead borrowed piece of wood from from the host's garage. I figured, close enough.

A future chapter of Pactio I have been considering has Laine and Kara attend a Rome anime convention to kidnap the son (who is an otaku) of a major 'Ndrangheta figure.

Of course, they'd have to cosplay as Panty and Stocking Anarchy:

Laine (modeled by Yuzu.Inumachi - 犬町ユズ)

Kara (modeled by Kotori - 琴莉)

More of Panty - http://mpzerocos.exblog.jp/15262717/
More of Stocking - http://mpzerocos.exblog.jp/15262722/

A number of good cosplays came up today, including "Angel" versions of both Panty and Stocking as well as Bonbori and Hozuki from Otome Yōkai Zakuro.

There's a few more good shoots with Midori Kanda over at the Japanese blog those photos originate from:
http://kimokamehirosyu.blog93.fc2.com/
She also has her own tag on MPZero's blog - admittedly, these ones are more heavily Photoshopped:
http://mpzerocos.exblog.jp/i106/

Midori is frequently paired with an ultra-cute cosplayer known as Suu:
http://kimokamehirosyu.blog93.fc2.com/blog-entry-49.html
http://ophanium.blogspot.com/2009/10/cosplay-midori-kanda-ft-sue-ga-rei-zero_28.html

(The photos in the second link actually originate from a cosplay blog called de die in diem, but something has rendered many posts on that blog inaccessible so I have to link a repost instead.)

Ibara [イバラ] is still my favorite cosplayer, but Midori Kanda is very good.

Suu has been doing some normal clothes shots recently and she looks really cute. I have to say, though, that I think Tomoyo is cuter.

Hojo Kana as Rena Ryuguu of Higurashi. The whole photoshoot consist of a Kana stripping off her Rena outfit, revealing a bikini.

As for the quality of the cosplay, she could dye her hair the same orange-light brown color as in the anime. I would also approve of the addition of Rena's machete and a yandere-ish smile.

Still, given the chance I would still, dare I say, take her home!

Still one of the best OP's in anime history.

Hell, the entire soundtrack is classic in the true sense of the word. Awesome for a 300km drive.
