After looking at the inhuman thread, I've come up with another suggestion. Half Life Opposing Force star Adrian Shephard. He was such a threat that G-Man didn't even give him a choice, unlike Freeman. Plus, anyone can wield a crowbar, but it takes a real man to wield a big ass pipe wrench.

Damn, I feel a new story idea coming on.

Adrian Shepard... what ever happened to the man anyway? Last I ever saw of him, he was appropriated by the G-man, and that was it.

Since we're talking about FPS heroes, would Doomguy be considered human?

No FPS protagonist is human. They can all take several hits from high-powered rifle cartridges and suffer no hinderance to mobility, much less loss of life. All is instantly fixable with a medkit!

Well, to that effect, then no video game character would be considered human no matter what. Oh, and Deus Ex would like to have a word with you about hinderance to mobility.

And yeah sasahara, Shephard was just left alone to rot, but it's given me an idea for a new story that I will have to gather some ideas for.

Deus Ex did a decent job of it, I'll admit, but again... your legs work fine until they've essentially been shot off, and you can get 'em back with the ever-magical med kit.

speaking of Deus Ex... JC Denton and Alex D would both probably put up a good fight against the girls... assuming our little cyborgs didn't have the element of surprise on their side (but that pretty much goes for any human)
That's probably my favorite pair of shooters... for single player, anyway.

No one who can survive a significant portion of planetary reentry without a space ship is not human. I mentioned him by his less famaliar title, John-117, in the inhuman thread.

Hm, is Iron Man human? I'm not certain if he should be in this thread, but the man under the armor is all too human. Should the girls ever have a mission to take him out, shooting him while she's out of his amor and completely sloshed would be a piece of cake. However they might accedentaly fight him IN his armor...

Should Tony go in this thread, or in the Inhuman thread? He is very human under all that Gold Titanium alloy. and besides, if we talk about the the GSGs are going to beat these people, taking Stark down while he's completely drunk will be their best opening.

That's the bueaty of Iron Man. Under all that armor and his pruported 'invincibility', Tony is vunerable against things like alcohol, depression, etc...

But he's no match for a cyborg out of his armor... or is he? I seem to recall several occasions he's fought foes without the amor (hell, he even FOUGHT the armor at one point). Maybe taking out the flesh bag won't be as easy as the girls may have thought.

I don't know I think Iron man, and other's like Samus, War Machine, ect skirt the edge of 'human' in terms of opponent. Tony Stark is human, but Tony Stark is not Iron Man. Tony Stark in ridiculously awesome armor is Iron Man. Iron Man flies, laughs at bullets, ect. So Iron Man is not human. Tony Stark is human. Underneath the armor they might still be human, but I don't think we are talking about these people sans armor. Well maybe you are, but I'm not.

I don't know, Max always seems to get whooped in those games before popping some painkillers and getting back on his horse. Not to mention, I don't think he'd have the guts to fight kids, cyborg or not. He's haunted enough by everything, I don't think he could take adding child killer to it, regardless of whether they attacked him first or not.

Oh man I forgot Brock Fucking Samson. He is perhaps one of the most awesome characters ever. No one has made me laugh harder. Anyway if a little girl started shooting at him, or the Venture family, he might not kill them. However I guarantee he would 'handle' the situation. Especially once he figured out they where cyborgs who could take a 9mm to the head.

Max Payne also seems the kind of guy who would protect his life first. He might not like the idea of killing a kid, and would be sure to agonize over it later. However when he's looking down the barrel, he's going to choose to live. Again once her realize a 9mm to head didn't bother them, he wouldn't feel so bad about shooting them either. I suppose it is true though he would rather run away then stay, and fight. If it was a matter of his life vs a GSG life though. He would try to kill the Gunslinger Girl.

Not necessary.

They could use science and drop a 3-ton/1-ton safe or something on top of the girls. I doubt they'll survive an impact that'll smash their heads!

...or use an AT rifle (the Barett rifle) and blow their heads to bits...

...or use a flamethrower and burn them to crisps...

...or use a truck and ram them (as proven by Adam and Jamie)

...or push them off a ledge (again, as proven by Adam and Jamie)

...or lure them to step on a mine

...or gas them using Mustard gas

...or call in an airstrike on them..

...or call (a) Panzer IV and make short-work of them Laughing

...or destroy them one by one like what Makoto did (mentioned already. He won't possibly survive, but he's a worthy sacrifice)

...or spray them with a gattling gun...

...or use Machine Guns to kill them...

...and many more ways!

Amen.

I was just at /tg/ archive 4chan the other day, and I found alot of creative ways people in roleplaying games use 'immovable rods', whellbarrows, homemade Earthshaker artillery cannons, 300 tonne hotdogs and wooden branches to totally rape monsters they fight. I was an intresting read, but god forbid Jamie and Adam chance upon it...

It's the Buxomise Pill.

It makes loving fathers who have daughters, faithful or really horny boyfriends or fiancees, older brothers who will do anything for their younger sisters... generally every male human who has a female loved one, become vicious murders.

Also, any FEMALE involved in the fight wil be a hundred times more vicious than any male could be in this situation.

It's like Idun's golden apple. Except it makes your bust grow. Which is a 100 times better than immortality if you're female and flat as a board.

The Story involving the Buxomise Pill is indeed hilarious. I also find it just a tad bit peculiar, or creepy. Well what ever...

Oh man the greatest fight ever just crossed my mind. SWA vs the crew of the Serenity. Jayne using Vera to spray bullets at the cyborgs. Malcom concocting some crazy plan. Sheperd Book perhaps busting a few knee caps. Not to mention the Epic duel between Triela, and River Tam. There's just so much potential for awesome there.

I'll have to go with LoC. River is far too powerful, even for cybrogs. They way she tore apart all those Reavers at the end of the movie...

Y'know, I wonder which of Glau's characters is deadliest. I mean, she acted as both River and Cameron (the Terminator) and I think she was in the Buffyverse as well (somewhere). Glau really like playing that badass martial arts chick.

Flat ain't so bad....
Well, I'm thinking 'DangerousKurves88' does have a bit of a problem with the
new Generation 2 cybrogs since most of them have boobs. I wonder how she feels
now that she's lost her 'sexiest cyborg' title to Petra (probably another
reason for the usurper to suffer I suppose).

Going to be a running joke in Echoes. Just haven't gotten around to putting pen to paper yet *sigh*. My 082 timetable is a mess.

Okay looking at it, yeah River Tam is really bad ass. She's probably in the wrong thread. However I think I could do a half way decent job of pulling some explanation out of my rear, why it wouldn't be. Shall we see if I can?

River Tam does indeed take down a room full of Reavers. However one has to consider why is she so bad ass. It's obvious that she knows kung-fu. However she has a critical edge over her opponents, she can read your mind. What good is a all the martial arts in the world if you opponent literally knows what your thinking.

Consider that the cyborgs have damaged minds. They might be harder to read.* This is especially believable if they are part of an alliance task force to capture, or kill River. I mean think about it's doubtful River was the only girl. Maybe she was the prototype for the third gen. So River loses a key advantage against cyborgs. Also consider that for all her ass kicking River is still just a girl. Her reflexes are good, but remember Henrietta kicked a bouncing betty out a window. Not to mention Rivers endurance, and physical strength are much weaker then her cyborg counter parts. Finally she can't soak up hits the way a cyborg can. One bullet is all it will take for River to be feeling the pain.

*This wouldn't apply to the Reavers, their brains aren't damaged. Their just really angery, and psychotic. Cyborgs brains aught to be wired different due to the brain damage the conditioning causes.

So I don't know I am assuming some BS, but I think the argument could be made.

it could be... but a counter-argument could be made regarding the state of the Reavers' brains. They had a violent reaction (perhaps an allergy? It'll probably never be fully explained) to the drug 'Pax' (can't remember the full name) that the Alliance had pumped into the air on Miranda.
Pretty sure that drug was a permanantly mind-altering substance, considering the effects never wore off. Most likely it damaged centers controlling certain inhibitions... especially against killing.
I doubt the girls' minds would be any harder to read than any other human, be it for River Tam or a Force user from the Star Wars universe.

Yeah it was a whole bunch of BS, I know. That, and actually I just remembered that scene where River shoots four guys with her eye's closed. She's in the wrong thread.

Guts from Berserk. The number of crossbow bolts he's taken, and the number of demons he's hacked...a tricky opponent.

And of course, Figure Four, the human non-superpowered martial artist from Battle Angel Alita known as the 'hundred cyborg killer'....

What about other cyborgs? like the Major from ghost in the shell, (pretty much all the main cast from ghost in the shell, especially the tachikomas).

another nominee could be any regular person in a gantz suit

We could have Kei & Yuri (from Lovely Angels/Diry Pair) go after the GsG girls... but that would leave Rome as an 18KM Smoldering Crater...

Sorry, Nuemenoreans like Aragorn have elf blood, and Gandalf is a Maia, effectively a divine being. Boromir would be full human, and might very well beat a Gunslinger if she didn't have a gun (we all remember how well he copes with shooting weapons).

Anyone mentioned Spike Spiegel already? Or Limelda and Madlax (well known for shooting bullets out of the air) from Madlax?

My $5 is on Rico beating the crap out of him.
Another $10 on Claes adding insult to injury.

Well, actually, with a little luck and an anti-tank weapon such as an RPG or AT4 rocket launcher anybody could kill a cyborg, they may be more resilient than a normal human, but they can't take a direct hit with an anti-tank weapon. Also, anybody who happens to have a tank or better yet, an attack helicopter or jet fighter, could kill one of the girls with a push of a button.

I'm pretty certain this must've been mentioned before, but in case it hasn't... Solid Snake (or Big Boss) in his golden days.

I mean, he takes on robots with nukes, freaks of nature, tanks (with grenades!), helicopters, Psycho mantis (he's a freak indeed, but he deserves a whole category for him), his clones, genetically engineered supersoldiers, and I'm probably forgetting something. Not to mention he's had some experience with cyborgs like Gray Fox and strange undying things like Vamp. So... He's probably well suited. And he's as human as you can get, he's a clone of someone.

The GsG cyborgs are at least 2X faster and several times stronger than a regular human. So while the human is aiming to take a hit on the cyborg, the cyborg has already hit the human at least 3 times.

Genetic reprogramming can add (or take away) what improvements one wants. Furthermore, Nueral programming (aka: WetWare) can improve skills and abilities that the original host did not have. Who knows- Solid Snake's DNA Donator could have been a 500 pound, burger munching, chocolate shake sipping, Diet Coke guzzling sloth that would make Jabba The Hut look like Jack La Lane!

Perhaps, but the storyline says his donator was Big Boss (who you get to play in MGS3 and is just as awesome if not more than his clone) He did go through some genetic tinkering, but it was mainly to limit his lifespan if I recall right. He did go through some mind tinkering as well, namely VR training, but his experience is also beyond the realm of virtual reality. He is a human, simply a very well genetically endowed and trained one.

That may well be true with handheld weapons, and possibly some lower-end tanks, I don't fancy the girl's chances against an M1 Abrams or a British Challenger. Also, if a fighter jet or even a chopper is involved, the girls are fast, but I'm pretty sure they can't outrun a JDAM or air to ground missile. And, if you're still not convinced anybody could kill a cyborg, given the right equipment, might I mention the B52 bomber and it's 50000 pounds of ordnance. However in spite of that, I must concede that you are right that they would be a formidable opponent to any infantryman.

A GSG might just be able to crack a current-generation tank hatch (as in unlocking it), at which point the crew inside would be dead meat.
