Mostly for pictures, but I suppose you can tell a story - though they normally end up being "You had to be there" unfunny.

Hope this doesn't offend anybody, but I recieved it in an e-mail recently and couln't help but wonder if someone actually had the guts to do something like this.

...but then, it kinda depends on why she's screaming... there are possible, disturbing reasons that aren't as obvious as what they mean there...

I saw nothing wrong at first, but I thought the guy had a rather long right arm... Then I went, "Oh my gosh, that's what's wrong with the picture!" Yes, it does look like he has two left arms.

This is funny. Cropped up in my Inernational Law Lecture yesterday, and the class couldn't stop laughing.

This is based on an actual radio conversation between a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier (U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln) and Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October, 1995. (The radio conversation was released by the Chief of Naval Operations on 10/10/95 authorized by the Freedom of Information Act.)

Canadians: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid collision.

Americans: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision.

Canadians: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.

Americans: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.

Canadians: No, I say again, you divert YOUR course.

Americans: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS LINCOLN, THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES' ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. Sadly, according to the site I got a copy of the transcript from, the US Navy later officially denied this event from ever happening, so it COULD be false...

As much as I would love to jest as to the quality of the Navy's sem seamen, I can't. Well at least not in this case [They're shooting blanks out of the five inch guns!] I too have head this story on more then one occasion. It is most hilarious, but very likely false. I don't really think the US Navy is allowed to deny something like this that vigorously.
