Daniel Craig is a great bond. He is way more true to the original Ian Flemmings character then any of the previous, maybe not in appearence but definately from a psychological point of view.

I kept comparing both Casino Royale and QoS to GsG after i watched them most recently, even though they are very different plot/character wise they are slightly similar in Style and Setting.

I should probably give them another chance. I was used to the "big boom Bond" films, but they started to grow tiresome, even with as solid an actor as Brosnan in the lead. So I likely didn't give Casino Royale a fair shake since it was not a "big boom Bond" film and it had a new actor in the main role.

Daniel Craig is a pretty good bond. I grew up watching Brosnan do Bond, but I think I'm liking the new direction for Bond movies. I'm looking forward to Daniel Craig's upcoming movie, "Defiance". Has anyone seen Valkyrie?

I shudder to think what Hollywood is going to present compared with what really happened (at least in terms of the motivation of the plotters), so I will be sure to miss it. Wink

My problem with the movie was the inability to draw me in. I felt Tom Cruise (even though he supposedly looks identical to the man, haven't seen a side by side) did not fit the role (or could've acted better). During the most suspenseful scene where he is waiting for operation Valkyrie to end, I did not feel a thing. The ending though was dramatic so I'd recommend a watch. I am happy though that some of the people who tried to cut Hitler's reign short were honored. Nuke

While I like Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig, Tim Dalton's Bond is my favorite - it's a shame they only made him stay for two films.

I'm going to watch 'The Spirit' tomorrow with my wife.

on a completely different note, I just watched a sort of off-beat coming-of-age film called The Wackness (there's a reason the title's in green Bong hit )... as much as it rambled, I found it touching... and as much as I could predict the ending, I still found it fairly awesome, for a movie with basically no violence in it.

as for action movies... Wanted and Death Race were kinda fun, but my knowledge of physics made me recoil in horror from both at times... especially Wanted.

Ah, I've seen the Twilight movie, and it doesn't dissapoint (though I watched it before I read the book Wink ) It directly quotes the book quite a lot, though it obviously takes a few liberties with the plot, and overall I think all of the actors were pretty good Very Happy

As for the spoiler thingy, 'tis motorbicycle or motorbike, depending on if you're being formal or not. But that's a minor error, I know plenty of native English speakers who would do the same Wink

That´s good^0^ I watched a few scences already
Spoiler:
I saw the baseball scence (and the Carlisle-biting-scences on youtube already that was amazing^0^
but I read a few of bad critics from who have read the book first and then watched the film or some who didn´t knew at all about what it was going and thought it would be such a Vampire-action-action-film
Okay thanks (I just spelled it wrong ^0^)

Spoiler:
I didn't much like the baseball scene, in that it wasn't overly clear on why they could only play during a storm... I only got it when I read the book afterwards...
But nevertheless, I liked the movie as a whole Very Happy Considering my general contempt for Hollywood movies, that's saying something

So... as I said I went to the prewiev of Twilight today. We were five girls and as we stepped into the cinema we were a little suprised because there were ONLY girls.
Well from all the bad critics I heard, I were well.... skeptikal that it would be really as bad as they said...well I LOVED IT! Good...If I would have been the regisseur I would have made the film a lot different then it was now :

Spoiler:
because the relationship between Edward and Bella were a bit too........fast, the actors of Jacob and his friends were...well all laughed as they saw them, the scences were Edward climbed or runned were too...unrealistic, and the fact that Carlisles story weren´t told still bugs me, but I think that´s in lots of films just the same and I thought It was great rhat Stephenie Meyer appeared
Still I LOVED the Carlisle scences!! cheers Rico-Chan who was watching me said that I looked kinda bored the whole film but when Carlisle showed uo my eyes got bigger and bigger sweat Well... we all got our favourite Characters Smile Oh and the voices were nice! I wouldn´t have expected that!

Only girls? We had a pretty decent mix when I went to see it... (though admittedly, I do know one girl who went 3 times)

Spoiler:
Eh, I don't really have a problem with any of the things that you've said. The relationship has to be fast, it's a move Wink
What's wrong with Jacob etc.?
To me, the book gave the same impression as the film in terms of movement etc. A bit like a cross between Wolfs Rain and Smallville...
Again, there wouldn't have been enough time to put in Carlisle's story since its a movie Sad
Stephenie Meyer was in it? I've never seen her before, so I didn't recognise her...

So did you get a dub then? Or was it in the original?

Eh, I don't really have a problem with any of the things that you've said. The relationship has to be fast, it's a move Wink = Yeah I suppose you´re right ^_^
What's wrong with Jacob etc.?= Well...that´s kinda a long story Razz but the main cause is that we all thought that Sam, Quil and Embry would look a lot better
To me, the book gave the same impression as the film in terms of movement etc. A bit like a cross between Wolfs Rain and Smallville...=I never watched Wolfs Rain so I can´t say anything about it but for Smallville....well I think it´s because when I read the book I had an oter image of Vampires running and Crawling...It was okay though and I liked it how they made Edward sparkle ^0^
Again, there wouldn't have been enough time to put in Carlisle's story since its a movie Sad = I know but I would have loved to see the picture we´re Carlisle and Aro, Marcus and Caius were displayed as gods dancin\\'
Stephenie Meyer was in it? I've never seen her before, so I didn't recognise her...
She was the women in the Café were Charlie and Bella were sitting the waitress also said Stephanie to her

Let's see... Among new movies, Gran Turino was AMAZING!

I am currently watching Star Wars with my mommy so, I like Star Wars. I also like Jurassic Park... Hmmm...

I like Disney movies too... Like Mulan, Lilo and Stich, Hercules, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and Emperor's New Grove.

I love Ancient Egypt so I love the Mummy too.

Yup. I'm outta movies right now.

Hmmm......I was wondering: What series do you guys watch? Here´s mine list:

Gilmore Girls, canceled
(My favourite)

Boston Legal, canceled waiting for season 4
(Just love this show ^0^)

Six feet under, canceled
(I bought the 5th seasons three weeks ago and then watched the 5th, the 4th, the 3rd and the 2nd in one week....I got the strange habit of starting series with the last season and then watch it from the end to the beginning... ^_^;;; I wonder why...)

Pushing Daisies, canceled
(bought the 1st season 2 days ago and I love it ^0^ It´s so colored and bizarre and fairy-tale-like ^0^)

Dr.HouseM.D., they only repeat the old episodes
(who doesn´t like Hugh Laurie as Dr. House ^_~)

the O.C.,
(My sister and my best friend love it I think sometimes it´s a bit too melodramatic but I like it)

Heroes canceled
(I love it! I wish I could have Hiros or Sylars...gift ^0^)

Moonlight, canceled
(I think it´s really cool...my sister really likes Alex o´Laughlin Laughing )

I also sometimes watch:
Home Improvement (Tim Allen is so great in that show!) canceled
The Golden Girls canceled ,The Nanny,Scrubs, Still Standing,Full House canceled, Immer wieder Jim (with Jammes Belushi), Stargate, Monk canceled

That were only my favourites....So what do you watch?
(now don´t get me wrong I do not sit all the day in front of the TV ^_^;;Wink

Soooo.......And I saw Interview with the Vampire last week (I hadn´t seen it for ages) I think Brad Pitt is an amazing Louis and even if I don´t like Tom Cruise he was an great Lestat (he appeared taller to me in the movie....wonder why...)
When I watched the film on YouTube (all the cruel scences were vanished ^_^ )
and read the comments I was getting mad because there were many comments like "OMG Louis is just like Edward" and such stuff and even if I´m a big Twilight-fan ( I feel kinda stupid because I said in the Bookstore thread that it sounds boring ^0^;;,) it made me mad ( I mean I really love the Twilight-saga and Stephenie Meyer made a great job I think there were many things in Twilight that seemed to me like they were copied from the Anne Rice Novels...)
Also I have to admit that I liked Lestat much better in the movie than in the book .......

And finally I wanted some ..well reviews of some films (well two...just tell me if you liked them and if they are woth to watch them. That would be nicê ^_^)
Well these two:

Brokeback Mountain
American Beauty

LOL I think that this is the longest message I´ve ever sent ^0^[i]i

The currently-running (so new episodes are still being made) network shows I watch are:

Bones (FOX)
CSI (CBS)
Dollhouse (FOX)
Eleventh Hour (CBS)
Family Guy (FOX)
Fringe (FOX)
Heroes (NBC)
How I Met Your Mother (CBS)
Legend of the Seeker (UPN)
New Yankee Workshop (PBS)
NOVA (PBS)
Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles (FOX)
Ugly Betty (ABC)

The currently-running (so new episodes are still being made) cable shows I watch are:

Ace of Cakes (FOOD Network)
Battlestar Galactica (SciFi Channel)
Challenge (FOOD Network)
Divine Design (HGTV)
Dogfights (History Channel)
Destroyed in Seconds (Discovery Channel)
Eureka (SciFi Channel)
How It's Made (Science Channel)
Inside the Actors Studio (Bravo)
Last Restaurant Standing (BBC America - called "The Restaurant" in the UK)
Lewis Black's Root of All Evil (Comedy Central)
Monsterquest (History Channel)
Mythbusters (Discovery Channel)
Naked Science (National Geographic Channel)
Robot Chicken (Cartoon Network)
South Park (Comedy Central)
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Cartoon Network)
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central)
Time Warp (Discovery)
Top Gear (BBC America)
Torchwood (BBC America)
The Universe (History Channel)
The Venture Brothers (Cartoon Network)

There are also a number of older shows that may or may not be coming back for new seasons, but I keep them active in my Tivo's Season Pass just in case. Then there are sporting events (Formula One racing) and such, so all total, my Tivo currently has 70 show entries set for Season Passes, though I have had more (a number of shows I watched have ended their runs). I think at maximum it was somewhere in the mid-80's.

I love Eureka. It's quirky and cute yet also serious.

I only like the original CSI (Las Vegas). I watched the first two seasons of CSI: Miami and the first season of CSI: New York, but what I love most about CSI is the ensemble cast and neither the Miami nor New York casts worked for me (which is too bad in the case of New York since I really like Gary Sinese).

Now that three of my favorite characters from the original CSI are gone (Grissom, Warrick and Sarah), I am not sure if I will stay with it after this season ends. I really like Laurence Fishbourne and he is doing a good job so far, but I'm worried the chemistry is going to change...

Mythbusters is awesome, the rest of 'em (Dirty Jobs, Wreckreation Nation, Human Weapon, Cities of the Underworld, et cetera) have their moments.

I also watch the daily show between perusing news sites... but I tend to watch it exclusively on the internet.

So yeah, I forgot to mention this - my wife and I exited the theater after The Spirit had ended, looking like pears with teeth.

Fortunately, a subsequent dose of Dr. House helped us forget the experience.

I don't watch much TV really. And the TV I do watch I usually just download when I miss them, so if that counts...sweat .

I'm a cinema junkie and proud of it. One of these days Blockbuster and Hollywood Video are going to revoke my VIP and MVP accounts respectively and I'm aware that the shipping costs on my Netflix most likely outpaces my monthly subscription fee.

The few shows I however do like are:

The Simpsons
Family Guy
House
NCIS
South Park
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles(Summer Glau FTW)

and the most recently added:
Dollhouse

I dunno about everyone else, but I found that Catshitone to be unintentionally hilarious. But perhaps that's what they're going for - as of now, I see it as a rather humorous angle to middle east conflict.

A friend whom I talked to about the show this morning told me that the original was set in 'Nam, but the creator decided to 'update' it for our time and set it in the Middle East. He says that although it may look/seem odd, the story is very gritty, serious and well-written. Seriously, guys - I think it's actually worth watching.

I have but one question to all of you cinema fans.

What the hell is it about Jason Statham movies?

I just saw the trailer for Crank 2 and...HOLY SHIT it's going to be a good summer.

Watchmen lived up to my expectations, Fast and the Furious 4 is due out soon(no Dragonball for me thank you), Crank 2 right afterward.

I've been a Jason Statham fan since Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels where he simply took hold of the screen and never let go. And every year since 2000, he's turned out at least one amazing movie the latest being the highly underrated Death Race.

So...any thoughts?

I just finished watching Man's best Friend on youtube. I saw it on tv one day and saw part of it in the middle. It looked interesting so I decided to watch it.

I don't know how. I don't know why... But I love this movie! I don't mind thriller when the main killers are animals. To me there's really nothing scary about it. I guess it's the same reason why I'm not scared of Jurassic park. Again, main killers are animals. ^o^

Has anyone else seen Man's Best Friend? I want to get it on DVD! ^_^

Spoiler:

I love you Max!! *hugs him* ^.^

Re: Films Everything

Post by Danjo3 on Sun 5 Apr 2009 - 10:43

I recently heard something very disturbing. It seems there’s a remake in the works of the 1967 classic Bonnie and Clyde. Now that’s not the disturbing part (though most Directors would run screaming into the night at the very thought), what’s disturbing is the choice for the leads. It seems that the Director, Tonya Holly (who the hell is she?) decided that Disney fodder, Hillary Duff and Kevin Zegers would be perfect.

I’m going to say it one more time in case you didn’t hear me - Hillary Duff.

Now at first I thought that there were a whole lot of folks over Hollywood way who’d caught a sever case of the insanity, till I did a little more research. Apparently this isn’t a remake, but an adaptation.

Now it all made sense. Here’s what adaptation means: We water it down, make it cute and fuzzy, give a PG-13 rating, and market it to all of Duff and Zegers’ teeny bopper fan base.

What a shame. I’ll tell you this - as bad as a true remake would have been, I would have paid the $10 just to see Hillary get shot to pieces at the end.
