I have but one question to all of you cinema fans.

What the hell is it about Jason Statham movies?

I just saw the trailer for Crank 2 and...HOLY SHIT it's going to be a good summer.

Watchmen lived up to my expectations, Fast and the Furious 4 is due out soon(no Dragonball for me thank you), Crank 2 right afterward.

I've been a Jason Statham fan since Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels where he simply took hold of the screen and never let go. And every year since 2000, he's turned out at least one amazing movie the latest being the highly underrated Death Race.

So...any thoughts?

I just finished watching Man's best Friend on youtube. I saw it on tv one day and saw part of it in the middle. It looked interesting so I decided to watch it.

I don't know how. I don't know why... But I love this movie! I don't mind thriller when the main killers are animals. To me there's really nothing scary about it. I guess it's the same reason why I'm not scared of Jurassic park. Again, main killers are animals. ^o^

Has anyone else seen Man's Best Friend? I want to get it on DVD! ^_^

I recently heard something very disturbing. It seems there’s a remake in the works of the 1967 classic Bonnie and Clyde. Now that’s not the disturbing part (though most Directors would run screaming into the night at the very thought), what’s disturbing is the choice for the leads. It seems that the Director, Tonya Holly (who the hell is she?) decided that Disney fodder, Hillary Duff and Kevin Zegers would be perfect.

I’m going to say it one more time in case you didn’t hear me - Hillary Duff.

Now at first I thought that there were a whole lot of folks over Hollywood way who’d caught a sever case of the insanity, till I did a little more research. Apparently this isn’t a remake, but an adaptation.

Now it all made sense. Here’s what adaptation means: We water it down, make it cute and fuzzy, give a PG-13 rating, and market it to all of Duff and Zegers’ teeny bopper fan base.

What a shame. I’ll tell you this - as bad as a true remake would have been, I would have paid the $10 just to see Hillary get shot to pieces at the end.

Hollywood has been relatively bankrupt for ideas for at least the past two decades and since it's run by the bean-counters (as all of society is), the vast majority of projects green-lighted are re-treads of previously successful stories to try and improve the chances it will be financially successful. It's also why we see so many sequels of popular movies that were never meant to have a sequel in the first place, but somehow turned from being a planned tax write-off (by expected to be a flop) into a surprise sleeper hit.

Has anyone heard about the Farrelly brother’s, The Three Stooges movie. Benicio Del Toro as Moe, Sean Penn as Larry, and Jim Carrey as Curly. Kind of a strange line up, except for Carrey of course. And from what I understand, it’s not going to be a biography type movie, but a straight up, in character comedy. Be interesting to see how this one plays out.

I've heard of it, yes. Sean Penn was the most out-of-left-field cast member to be announced. I'm reserving judgment on the thing for the time being.

Considering that both the live action versions of Akira and Evangelion never made it out, odds favor FMP dying, as well.

I love Paprika (one of the few anime movies that I've been able to see in a theater). I have also watched it 4 or 5 times on DVD. I love the color palette used in the film and the seamless way that it moves between reality & the dream world. It's a basic "science has good intentions but man can too easily corrupt it" theme.

Me and my friends go out to play Laser Quest at the local arena fairly frequently - it's a good way to have a bit of fun and work up a sweat as well (beats staring at the wall in the gym any day of the week, at least!). This evening, we also went to see Crank: High Voltage.

There's Jason Statham. There's a group of people who don't like Jason Statham. Let's introduce Jason Statham to the people who don't like him.

The result is a wonderful, revitalising, truly life-affirming film which reassures you that there is still joy and right in the world. Smile

Certification:UK:12A | South Korea:12 | USA:PG-13 | Ireland:12A | Finland:K-13 | Singapore:PG | Netherlands:12

So guess what it´s an PG 16 here! A FRIGGIN´ PG 16!!! ;_; ... I wanted to watch it so bad.......

hence why I would prefer wanton slaughter or at least development hell. there's a reason the cast of FMP are cartoons.

anime adapted into live action just seems a little beyond Hollywood. Transformers was the closest they could come, and they had to completely change the dynamic of the story to make it semi-watchable.
Imagine a live action Evangelion as envisioned by a Hollywood studio... *shudders*

It has been in development for some time now. WETA Digital, who handled the special effects for The Lord of the Rings trilogy, was tasked with designing the EVAs and concept art is lurking around on the web.

of all the live action movie from anime, i can't remember of anything that's worthwhile

mostly because we are too fascinated by the anime, and suddenly, the live action, who's obviously can't catch up with the image we have in mind

it's always like that, anime > live action
but IF live action in different storyline or provides anything that's different, that could be another result

hey guys, i need help figuring out how my local black market pirates did this... i got a hold of x-men origins: wolverine 3 weeks ago and i was thrilled by the quality of the movie's audio since usually it suffers when u buy a movie that comes available before the show date in the US.

but then low and behold something else comes and disapoints me. the effects: everytime computer effects are used in the film my movie goes to CGI mode

Spoiler:

ex. instead of seeing a plane flying through a landscape. i see a gray formless aircraft float through gray mountains!

as agent zero throws his guns into the air, the guns turn freakin white!!

and i can actually see wolverine run to a point where a huge red arrow says "run till here"!!!

i mean WTH is that about!

I'm actually a hardcore otaku who likes maids more than having three meals in a day and I only read books related to maids. Also, I only visit maid cafes. Of course I also collect maid figurines, I play games which feature maids and it turns me on so much that I'll wear the maid uniforms and jump in joy.

I just finnished watching Street fighter 4: The legend of Chun-Li.

It was entertaining to watch, though it sucked as far as Street fighter canon goes.

That and There is no casting of Cammy or Chun-Li's paired character Colonel Guile.

And this Gen Character? In Street Fighter Canon, Shadeloo doesn't leave deserters, they kill them.

Deadpool was the guy with the swords right? I thought it was pretty awesome, as well as REALLY creepy. ;_;

I loved the movie and I don't think the reviews are giving this film the right response. I think this film can easily stand up the other X-Men movies as well as other hero movies like The Dark Knight. In fact I might like it even better.

Yeah, he was the guy with the swords and no mouth. He was nothing like the amazing character he's like in the comics. T_T

well it's because they combined deathpool and weapon XI as one character, that's not suppose to be the case, i mean Katanas coming out of his hands WTF!!

i've seen this before, the comic was great(or something before the turn it into live-action film)
then the movie hit the cinema,"hey, why is the [character one] like that, unlike the original one?"
or
"why is the plot like this?" and blah-blab-blah the long list

more like the budget can't cut it, or the original was too great that nothing in live-action capacity can produce

well they needed to give wolverine an ultimate upponent, and they needed to give deadpool more screen time after not coming during the entire "present day period" of the movie, so why not make deadpool weapon XI and make him grow katanas out of his fists and shoot optic blasts out of his eyes!... seriously if they just made wolverine fight deadpool from the comics it would have been way cooler.

Spoiler:

and did anyone realize that silver fox (wolverine girlfriend) is technically not suppose to die since in the comic her powers specify that she has a healing factor even more effective that wolverine's and sabetooth's combined? yet she kicks the bucket after a bullet in the gut.
