I just finnished watching Street fighter 4: The legend of Chun-Li.

It was entertaining to watch, though it sucked as far as Street fighter canon goes.

That and There is no casting of Cammy or Chun-Li's paired character Colonel Guile.

And this Gen Character? In Street Fighter Canon, Shadeloo doesn't leave deserters, they kill them.

Deadpool was the guy with the swords right? I thought it was pretty awesome, as well as REALLY creepy. ;_;

I loved the movie and I don't think the reviews are giving this film the right response. I think this film can easily stand up the other X-Men movies as well as other hero movies like The Dark Knight. In fact I might like it even better.

well it's because they combined deathpool and weapon XI as one character, that's not suppose to be the case, i mean Katanas coming out of his hands WTF!!

i've seen this before, the comic was great(or something before the turn it into live-action film)
then the movie hit the cinema,"hey, why is the [character one] like that, unlike the original one?"
or
"why is the plot like this?" and blah-blab-blah the long list

more like the budget can't cut it, or the original was too great that nothing in live-action capacity can produce

Post by West Nile on Tue 5 May 2009 - 22:50

well they needed to give wolverine an ultimate upponent, and they needed to give deadpool more screen time after not coming during the entire "present day period" of the movie, so why not make deadpool weapon XI and make him grow katanas out of his fists and shoot optic blasts out of his eyes!... seriously if they just made wolverine fight deadpool from the comics it would have been way cooler.

Spoiler:

and did anyone realize that silver fox (wolverine girlfriend) is technically not suppose to die since in the comic her powers specify that she has a healing factor even more effective that wolverine's and sabetooth's combined? yet she kicks the bucket after a bullet in the gut.

you can always watch it for the totally bad ass gun play from agent zero and the awsome sword play of deadpool, before he get's raped by the director. or for the fact that GAMBIT IS THERE

I enjoyed it, but then again, when I watch any sort of adaptation, I always watch it with the idea that it WON'T be the same as the source. Plus, Deadpool was really snarky and hilarious in the beginning, so I give him some credit.

What makes Byousoku 5 Centimeter / 秒速5センチメートル / 5cm per Second so popular?

It's a film by Makoto Shinkai, who is an amazing animator and story-teller. And he hits another home run with this one. Incredible art. Solid story (even if it's melancholy like most of his stuff) and Tenmon delivers another epically good soundtrack.

But they even explained that, noting that the movie takes place in an alternate timeline/universe.

Personally, I think it would have worked better just as a pure reboot of the franchise, but by establishing it as separate from everything that went before it, it frees itself of all the baggage the "canon" universe has collected as the TNG and Enterprise universes re-wrote the TOS one bit by bit.

As a Treknical geek, I didn't have to try and rationalize any of it, but instead just take it purely at face value. Which was rather nice for a change. dancin\\'

So I just finished Mamoru Oshii's filmed version of Hiroshi Mori's The Sky Crawlers.

All in all, it was decent. Production I.G. handled the 2D animation so the characters look bad and the backgrounds look great. The 3D is quite good and integrates quite smoothly into the backgrounds, which is something unique - and welcomed, frankly.

The aerial battles are beautifully animated.

Rather then offer my own synopsis, I'll just link to Justin Sevakis' review on ANN.

Official Trailer:

Someone ripped the huge air battle that takes place about mid-point:

I love Star Trek. Saw it three times. Still annoyed my sister managed to one up me by seeing it in an IMAX theater. I think everything about Star trek that need to be said has been said.

Watched Also Sky Crawlers. I expected Ace Combat, seeing as how the Ace Combat guys are making a game tie in. hence why I was taken off guard completely. Magnificent but depressing as hell, and it gets worse once you read the discussions on it's themes.

I needed a pickup.

So I Prescribed More STAR TREK.

I've seen the trailer and the Korean they signed to play Saya is pretty hawt so... Wink

I'm waiting for DVD to see Terminator: Salvation and X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Normally, only Harry Potter and PIXAR will get me into the theater. For Star Trek a group of friends and I rented out the theater, but I likely would have seen it on my own.

The movie's title is Blood: The Last Vampire, so that would imply it's based on the anime movie of the same title from 2000, but I think it does draw from the Blood+ TV series.

I actually read Twilight and New Moon in eye-strayno-vision and it wasn't worth the effort. They seem to be written for the moppy.

Way to cash in on the whole emo-wave though. Thumbs up to Stephanie somethingoranother.

Somehow, I doubt Stephanie Meyer set out to write the Twilight series with money in mind. And that scares the hell out of me.

Ah, 'Twilight'... one of the most divisive things mankind invented.

The only story where the lead female wants to become a vampire to preserve her love for all eternity. I prefer stories where the beauty of human mortality is given more credit, but that's my personal opinion.

My sister thinks it's 'sweet' though (someone help), so i suppose Step Meyer must be doing something right. And what is up with Vampire Baseball? It was cool,but... really? Vampire baseball?

Still, it could be worse. Could be 'My Immortal'.
