Movies you DON'T want to watch ALONE

Post by Guest on Mon 25 Aug 2008 - 10:40

Lets talk about HORROR shall we?

Ok, I'm somewhat of a warmonger around here and I do watch things 'war-related'. One point I happen to pick up a war-themed horror movie called 'The Bunker'.

It was scary, but not as scary as Ringu (definitely not watching this alone). Anyway, I started to get addicted with it and eventually starts picking things up from Deathwatch to the recent ones The Outpost.

But of course, nothing beats this war-horror movie:

R-Point

here's a translated trailer (although its a little dark, so use the one below for translation, above for better display)

Nachtsider's top-rated horror movies (in no particular order):

Alien
Carrie
Dawn of the Dead (1978)
Double Vision
Friday the 13th (1980)
Halloween (1978)
It
Jacob's Ladder
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
May
Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Psycho (1960)
Ringu (not the remake or the sequels)
The Saw series
Se7en
The Shining
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

There's probably more, but I can't recall the rest at the moment.

Watch any (or all) or the above in the dead of night.

Alone.

quoted for truth. it's the only way to get anything out of horror movies.
additionally: if you can, be in an old cabin in the mountains when you watch them. during a thunderstorm.

as for things you shouldn't watch alone: 2 girls one cup. 'cause that'd just be weird.

Get well Rico-chan!

And to spend sometime, watch some of the 'recommended' horror above to past time--Triela-chan, be sure to accompany her if she does...hehehe....

...and I really should stop watching war-horror movies...gives me the creeps these days. Here's a more recent one, once again from Korea.

They seem to make better war-horrors than we do...

Yeah but I will be very frightened most of the time... I have to say I´m very jumpy...
That reminds me of a classmate of mine: We watched Lord of the rings ( on a party. I was Frodo Wink) and everytime she saw Gollum she started screaming and squeaking around (but she said to us that she´s watcing horror films they´re an 18...) For some reason she called him Collin...

At the next day we brought a picture of Gollum with us and showed it to her (it was funny) she yelled at us "OMG, COLLIN!!! took the picture down!!!!" and ran away... Muh-m-muhahahaha! Muh-m-muhahahaha! Muh-m-muhahahaha! normally she´s VERY tough...

I’m not a fan of horror movies and never seen one that really scared me - but I’ll admit, The Blair Witch Project kind of gave me the willies.

As a movie fiend I put my verdict down!!

Alien-Classic Thriller
Carrie-Classic Freakout Ending
Dawn of the Dead (1978)- A zombie sequel as only George Romero can do
Double Vision- Unique plot with psychotic overtone
Friday the 13th (1980) - Top 3 Beheading scene
Halloween (1978) - One of the first times the killer got away in a horror movie(Freaked me the hell out at Age 5)
It - More funny scary than OMG Scary
Jacob's Ladder - This movie will stick with you!!(Watch for Macauley Culkin appearence)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) - What else can be said, it's Freddy 'Fuckin' Kreuger
May - One of the best mindfuck movies of all time
Night of the Living Dead (1968) - Just plain classic (watch for the 'guts' scene, it just might make you lose your appetite)
Psycho (1960) - Alfred Hitchcock at his finest, crossdressing at its worst
Ringu (not the remake or the sequels) - Another classic being butchered to death by crappy remakes and sequels
The Saw series - First one was awesome(Game Over), second was okay, after that I just lost interest
Se7en - Another excellent thriller that will consume your rational thought process
The Shining - One of the best book to movie transfers of all time
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) - The original slasher flick, a classic for the ages

Other excellent movies in the Freakout horror subgenre
-Candyman 1
-Cannibal Holocaust
-The Exorcist

The horror movies I have seen:
Scream and I Still Know what you did Lat Summer (At a sleep over when I was 8 or 9 I couldn't sleep for weeks)
Pet Semitary (a few months ago with my friend. I had to sleep with my light on for a few days)
The Shining (Loved that one, not really scary!)
The House of Wax (The new one. It had just started playing on tv and it sounded interesting. I didn't know what it was so I started to watch it. To this day I still can't sleep easily. I keep picturing Vincent standing over me ;____;)

So as you can see I'm not very good with horror movies, or anything scary. I consider Jurassic Park to be the scariest thing I can take. <3

The Eagle

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring'd with the azure world, he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.

the Half life games were kinda scary like ravenholm 3 parts scary 4 parts music and sound effects and 24 parts fun those crazy jumping zombies freak me out and the guns dont do crap when you cant aim so i go out swinging the crowbar. whats even scarier or maybe just annoying is when the zombies can use guns and they are really acurate in time splitters (funnest sh*t i ever bought for the gamecube).
But really if i want scary i just walk into the woods by my house with mild killing intent. I hate those woods. (<--he hates those woods)
